The nighting gale was a superb pub.We went for a meal as it was a treat for my birthday.The burger was perfectly cooked and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very good and looked after us all very well.

Pretty poor all round I’m afraid.Sat at table 7.40. Main course eventually came at 9.10. (Pub was around 20% full at the most)Starter was “prawns and chorizo with bread”What came was 3 prawns and 5 tiny chorizo slices with nothing else. £9Burger was quite dry with a tiny amount of fries and two tiny cornichons on the side £16.50Then after finishing mains we were told the pub was closing in 15 mins. This was at 10pm on a Thursday.

Wow!! what a difference since last November now new management has taken over (thank goodness!) we had a phone call last November ON my brothers birthday half an hour before our table was booked to say they had no food!! SOOO happy Stuart is back and has got it back to the amazing place it was. Staff all look so happy and are just so friendly was so nice to see Karolina again and Anna was so lovely- both couldn't do enough and are just so great at their job, Stuart is such a brilliant manager and was so kind with my mom who was worrying and my sister who had a special request with her meal. Our meals were so so nice and so thankful for how dog friendly and accommodating they were to crosby- one of the first things anna said was would you like water for your dog- so pleased to have this place we loved visiting back to the standards we remembered Thank you!!

Food was good but the service was awful! Took nearly half hour to get a drink. No one collected empty plates, 40min to order a pudding and then a further 25min to bring out a couple of chocolate brownies! Table of 8 behind us walked out after waiting so long so lost alot of custom there. Piles of empty plates & glasses stacked up on bar and tables not being cleared away which didn't look appealing.Lots of tables complaining. Looking through the reviews on here it seems to be a regular problem at weekends for a while now and clearly nothing has been done about it!!?? Used to visit here alot but after today I won't be back until I see the reviews have got better.
