Had a wonderful lunch here today, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent. Good venue for an impromptu get together. Thanks everyone!

Stayed one night on business and am really impressed. Staff lovely, exceptional food. I had a single room which was clean, had everything in it I needed, including complimentary toiletries. As a frequent business traveller you can't do better than this place.

Have always driven past this pub and thought how nice it looks from the outside. I went in yesterday for dinner. While waiting to order an argument broke out over someone asking if they did takeaway. A man was shouting and arguing, throwing his arms around and making threats, making a very very uncomfortable and scary atmosphere. I then found that the man shouting and swearing was actually Darren the OWNER! Vile behaviour. Who wants to go out and listen to an angry man who can’t control his emotions, shouting at a customer, despite the customer remaining completely calm. Vile man, would never want to go in there again. Even the bar staff looked scared of him. Seems to be ran by a big, horrible bully who seems proud of the fact he’s spent time in prison. Food was horrible. The food was cold and wrinkled. The gravy was full of MARMITE! So odd. Do not recommended this awful place.

We booked a table for 5 (4 adults and 1 child). Sat outside and enjoyed some nice views. The bar area is nice with plenty of drink options. The food was poor but the service was worse. We ordered three seafood cocktails (which is essentially a prawn cocktail and came with between 4 and 6 small prawns per dish) and one Brussels pate (bland). It was close to an hour before the mains came. At no point during our meal did a member of staff come to our table and take a drinks order - you are expected to go to the bar. We had four beef mains and one children’s beef. One dish was forgotten about and took another 5 mins to arrive together with our cutlery (which we had to ask for!). The meat was tasteless and some of the yorkshires and potatoes were burnt. No one checked to ask us how our meal was. When the bill came it was wrong and there was also an overcharge of £20 - it took 5 members of staff to sort it out. There are much better pubs in the area - it’s probably OK to go for a drink only but anything else is beyond their capability; your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Called into The Vernon, after a long walk. We wanted sandwiches and ordered Ham and Cheese, my husband had a Club. After waiting ages, they finally arrived. My Ham and Cheese, was appalling, thin white bread, thin ham and tasteless cheese. They were toasted I think, as they were stone cold. They were returned. Was told it was a new menu, what difference that made? It cost £7,for this sandwich! Won't be returning!!

We stayed for one-night. Girls in the bar were really friendly and we had a drink before going out for food. They had 0% lager which was fab for my husband. Full English breakfast the next morning was really good and well cooked.Wouldn't hesitate in visiting again.Rooms: Gorgeous room, really clean and nice little touches like toiletries, biscuits, tea, coffee and bottled water. The bed linen was really lovely and very comfortable.

Don't bother. Be warned. Absolutely appalling leaving your guests in the lurch without cups, glasses and toilet roll in the room. We was expecting to have a meal in the evening after a long day out however upon arrival the restaurant was closed without any prior warning. We had to eat at a restaurant which was 3 miles away. When we went down to breakfast the following day there was a note on the floor to say breakfast was not being served with no explanation!Very furious as we again had to find somewhere to eat on the way home.

Darren and the staff are so very friendly and helpful. Darren went out of his way to ensure I was looked after and helped me book an appropriate room (quiet) and provided me with a late breakfast after my swim at the nearby Droitwich Spa Lido. Great bar, a lovely Pinot Grigio. The fish and chips in their restaurant are exceptional.

I had a very pleasant stay here. I do enjoy getting away from the formulaic chain hotels, and this is one of the lovely old buildings that can be found. Clean, comfortable with a nice restaurant made for an enjoyable one night stay. I would definitely consider staying here agin if I find myself in this area again.

We only popped in during the lunchtime, but found the venue (A free house) to be vibrant and comfortable. People were in the restaurant and from what l saw the meals served from a clean and proper kitchen were very good. The bar is open and well stocked, serving many a beer and spirits. Butty Bach and Timothy Taylor on sale at the time for the ale buffs. Seating, toilets, decor is all good. Car parking ample. Outside is seating by the Brook. On a sunny day, look across the field upwards at the banked skyline...

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday 7/5/23.Very disappointing, husband had roast beef under cooked and stringy, vegetables tasteless which he commented that they were possibly frozen mixed veg.Daughter and I had to choose vegetarian option as no roast chicken choice. Mediterranean tart crust almost impossible to cut through, came with leaf salad both portions varied in size, with a few mini boiled potatoes. We all chose the breaded mushrooms which were over fried and tasteless.Extremely unhappy as is our local pub and we were looking forward to eating there , wish we’d read the reviews before booking.

Had a group meal there , owner and staff very helpful especially the waitresses, the food was cooked well but must admit i was a bit disappointed that none of the meals had any vegetables with them such as peas this was the only thing that spoiled the meal

On the whole over the years we have been going to The Vernon the food and service have been really good. However recently we have been going on a Saturday afternoon. Do they do food on a Saturday afternoon or not? I get a different answer each time and different menu available. When we asked we could not get a straight answer. This week there were just sandwiches and we were not very impressed. Definitely can make better at home.Parking: Plenty of parking as no one was there
