Hot chocolate to die for. Lentil and tomato soup a meal in itself. Having a sausage sandwich with the soup was possibly a step too far but that was my choice and glad I made it as was deliciousAlso you can bring your dog! What's not to loveDietary restrictions: Gluten free toast was available

Booked ahead for 10 people. Lovely table all prepared for us. Excellent full English breakfast with friendly, efficient service. Would highly recommend.

Yet another fabulous lunch at The Den. I have eaten here several times and have always had a friendly welcome, superb service and excellent food. I have tried something different from the menu on each visit and have never been disappointed. I recommend the quiches although all the freshly cooked food is well presented and the homemade cakes are always served in generous slices. Well worth a visit.

We always have a jolly welcome from the staff and there's a log burner blazing to warm the cockles when the weather is chilly. The cakes are to die for and cheese scones and soups are perfection. The premises is licensed so you can take your time with a glass (or bottle!!) of wine and a freshly prepared lunch made with locally sourced ingredients. We can't recommend The Den more highly, and it's surrounded by the beatutiful countrysideof the Teme Valley, so a very pleasant drive on quiet roads. There are also other shops worth looking around whilst there including a fabulous deli called Baileys. The Den also have pop up events that are great fun! Keep an eye on their Facebook site for details.

Steve and Rose were fantastic hosts at my 50th birthday party recently at The Den. They served prosecco and delicious homecooked vegan canapes to my 50 guests as they arrived and then served up incredible chicken curry, vegan curry and naan bread later in the evening. The venue was beautifully decorated with a warm, friendly vibe. Steve and Rose were the perfect hosts with help from John. I can't thank them enough for making the evening so perfect - so many of my guests commented on what great hosts they were. They were so accommodating and helpful throughout the whole planning stage too. The quality of their food and drink is second to none. Thank you!

Unappetising food. Not the most pleasant staff. Very overpriced for what it was. I don't think we'll bother again, at least not for more than a cup of tea.

Excellent food but actually quite expensive. Charming staff. Maybe choose more relaxing music?

Nice location and food let down by unfriendly service. We went here for brunch and on first appearances it seemed very nice. The welcome was good and the menu looked nice - if a little on the expensive side. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the attitude of the waitress. To say she was unfriendly was an understatement. Every request for information seemed like it was too much trouble - for example "do the baked beans come in a separate pot?" was met with a surly look and "Well it depends who's cooking!". The food was very slow to arrive and when it did eventually come it was wrong (should have been the "breakfast on toast" rather than the "house breakfast") . When queried there was no apology, just a very blunt "Well I never heard the word toast!" Having waited so long we just accepted what was provided, ate up and left. It's a shame as this place has the makings of a great cafe but good service is so important and is sadly lacking here.

Superb breakfast!! But for me it was all the extra details… fine China for that perfect cup of tea, beautiful cutlery, the whole ambience and attention to detail. Their team checked we were happy with everything and you could tell they genuinely cared. It was a real treat and great value for money. I will definitely go again!

I visited The Den with a friend one weekday morning, a very pleasant patio area overlooking a courtyard, also a decent indoor seating area. This is table service so we waited outside on the patio and nobody came over so we went inside to order and the lady there immediately told us that she will be with us shortly as somebody else had arrived before us and they would be seen to first. (They weren’t before us but not really a problem). When she took our order she said we were 3rd i the queue and there would be a wait. Strange, two negative statements from her when our food and beverages arrived pretty quickly. Between us we had a piece of cake and a tea cake, tea & coffee. All was good, the cake ws fresh, so was the tea cake. On the negative side, the cake was small, the tea cake was also small, probably the smallest I have ever seen. The shock was when the bill came, a staggering amount, I queried it and was told the cake was £4.25 or 50 - I can’t remember which. Very mean portions. I doubt I will return.

I originally went to the garden centre but spotted this place across the courtyard. What a lovely find. The place is so welcoming and as a female on my own who travels a lot for work, I have come to hate the soulless motorway service stations I normally find myself in. The ladies on duty were warm and welcoming and the lemon drizzle cake (which was clearly home made) and coffee were a very welcome break. All in all so glad I found this place and now I have bought by plants I will be back to try lunch.
