This is a busy well run establishment offering good food and drink in a nice setting. It was rammed when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime two weeks ago. The menu makes it clear a service charge will be added to all bills, but can be removed if you object. So I was surprised when the bill arrived with no service charge added. The waitress explained it had not been added as we had been kept waiting longer than normal and they were sorry about that. Never experienced that before and have to say it was a refreshing approach! Needless to say we sent the bill back for service to be added and will be returning to The George when we are next in the area. 10/10 to whoever is training the (friendly and helpful) staff!Parking: Arrive early!

Great food and service, relaxed atmosphere (even when it was busy) and very welcoming for families with young children and babies alike.

Very good food. A member of our group is celiac and the choice of food is very good.

Lovely place, lovely food but they don't like cash??And service charge is already on your bill??I thought a tip was your choice? And it was down to the management to pay the staff?? Old fashioned I know.

A great place to meet up with friends you've not seen for a while, as we did over the festive period. Our group of 11 was catered for efficiently although we did pre-order.

Indulged in a birthday celebration at The George Inn, a gem recommended by our daughter. Booking was a breeze, selecting from the enticing Christmas festive menu. The prompt and friendly response set the tone for a delightful experience.Stepping into a warm and welcoming atmosphere, we were seated promptly, greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco from the festive menu. The delicious food, coupled with a relaxed dining pace, made for a truly enjoyable afternoon. Highly recommend this spot; I can only imagine the added charm of dining outdoors in warmer weather.

Visited The George for lunch with my mom, dad & sister for my dad's 90th birthday lunch - Friday 19th Jan. From the very first moment, all the staff were welcoming, pleasant, polite & helpful. All the food we ordered was fabulous. I had the vegetarian burger, beet based with a Mexican twist, and it was really very delicious. As was the sticky toffee pudding afterwards! Our waiter was attentive & helpful throughout our lunch and at the end brought out a small cake (we provided) along with candles; and we all sang happy birthday (quietly). Thank you to The George for a wonderful lunch! Highly recommended!

We stayed in one of their lovely rooms and enjoyed a sharing antipasti platter before attending an event nearby. Complimentary porridge oats, orange juice and cereal bars in the room was a nice touch as the pub does not offer breakfast.
