A real gem tucked away in this pretty village of Turvey. We've been a few times now and happy to travel the few miles from Olney. The stand out compliment is the friendly welcome and excellent staff. The atmosphere is great, cosy and warm - there's a log burner too. Cleanliness is excellent. Good food with a wide and imaginative choice. Meat sourced locally (excellent butchers next door) and fine, varied selection of drinks. Only one small niggle for me who loves his real ale - there're three ordinary bitters out of the four hand pumps. For me it'd be nice to change one of them for another type of ale. But my moan can't detract from this excellent place - a proper English pub. Long may it thrive.

We went for dinner Friday evening and I'm glad I did the booking because the pub was full. We didn't wander around because it was dark and we didn't know the village. Inside is cosy and nice. We ordered a sea trout and a hake with baby potatoes and the veggies. It was great! Waiters were attentive and we've been asked if everything was ok. We also had a glass of Pinot Grigio which also was nice. We are planning a new visit already as a couple and with friends. I can recommend it.

I'm the kind of person that likes cooking and 50% of the times that eat out feels a bit disappointed with the food... but not here. Portions were my size, these people is not that stingy place that make starters feel like a Spanish Tapa... and everything we order was as good as it gets. The Italian meat platter was good quality, and I liked the cheese chosen... this is England and it's nice to leave a touch on it.The sea bream fillet and specially the lamb were sublime. I just eat this well in a British place at the Robins in Warwick, closed nowadays but the scallops in green sauce were from another planet.Very glad to end up here after not finding tables for valentine's day in Northampton. I'll be back!

Turvey is spoiled with two very decent pubs, one being Three Fyshes and this one The Three Cranes. We regularly eat and drink in both, but our preference is for the latter.Cliff runs a tight ship and his staff rarely miss a beat with their service. Whilst the menu is limited, the quality is always exceptional and there’s still something for most tastes. The drink selection on the other hand is vast, the beers are top quality and the wines are well chosen, with prices covering all pockets. The atmosphere is buzzing without being over the top and the locals that drink in there are polite. (Although it can get noisy on a Tuesday for the weekly quiz - in a nice way)If you ever find yourself in the area, be sure to give it a try. Make sure you save some room for the dessert board.

My mum and i visited here on Tuesday 24th October, I had the beetroot salad and my mum had the harissa butterbeans. Both meals were original, and delicious and the service was impeccable. We will certainly be returning - thank you.

The lady chef here is a Master Chef. All of her food is excellent.Truly excellent..The wine as usual is quite pricey for a pub when one considers all they do is open the bottle and tip a bit into a glass... Whereas the skills and effort that goes into the food is worth so much more...I'm very happy to recommend The Three Cranes.
