I had Sunday lunch here with friends & thoroughly enjoyed it. The roast is delicious & very filling. I had the lamb. One of my friends had the fish pie which she would recommend. The service was good. I'd recommend a visit.

The pub managed to accommodate us for food, despite us not having booked. The food was top-notch, and the atmosphere and service excellent.

Staying in the town again although not been for a couple of years but was delighted to see the place hadn’t changed with great staff, cheery customers and delicious grub and ale. Thank you. Spotted the pork rack at £22 or a 1/2 for £15.. had the full before and was rammed so decided to go for the 1/2 but have a starter having spotted the calamari in bread crumbs!! I must say both were delicious and washed down with a pint of their home brew Inn Ale - what a perfect evening. I was tempted by a pint of their Grizzly ale afterwards - oops I’d been doing so well but hey, you gotta live a bit!

A splendid pub with excellent real ales. It had a nice fire and is dog friendly. So aff and locals were very friendly creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Stonking selection of beers that never gets stale. If you like hazy pales, cask ales, Belgian beers, gin, wine... This might be the place for you. Food-wise, you might want to don an elasticated waist! The food is yummy and the portion sizes are

This is a lovely pub but somewhat let down by the food, at least when we visited yesterday. The halloumi starter was cold - it had clearly been pre-fried and a poor attempt at re-heating it had failed. I did try, but it was just too unpleasant so I sent it back, and an even colder slice was brought in its place. Literally straight from the fridge. The waitress was apologetic and professional, I did feel sorry for her as she was clearly a bit embarrassed that she had been sent out with sub-standard food. Had the duck from the specials menu for mains, the duck was ok - nothing special, the accompanying potato gratin was disappointing and the sauce was on the bland side. The dessert menu was pretty dull, but the brownie was delicious, to be fair. All in all, not the worse meal ever but at £86 for two of us it didn’t feel like great value. The halloumi was removed from the bill without me having to ask. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from visiting - it’s a really nice pub. But I would encourage the management to raise food quality standards a little.

Best pub in Hungerford. Great selection of beers and ales. Nice to sit inside by the fire, also to go and sit in the garden. There's cover over most of the tables outside too. Food here is also really good.

It was of no surprise I chose this venue to hold my 50th Birthday Party. What a night! The venue, staff and food certainly held up to expectations!! Would highly recommend the food and if you ever get a chance to attend one of their functions will be coming back for more! :-) Well done to all and Thank you. (Sunday roasts are pretty special too!)

What a lovely pub...so full of history. We had a lovely late lunch...sharing platter of falafel ,pitta etc. Delicious. Shelley and Aaron gave friendly and great service. Good coffee too. Will certainly be coming back , especially to try a Sunday roast ?

My daughter and I were just looking for a pub meal one evening. Came along this nice looking pub. Very busy so must be good. Asked the bar staff if they could fit us in and they could luckily but in the bar area which was fine for us. Really lovely friendly professional staff, even came over to offer to get another drink when we wanted one. Nice food we had risotto and fish and chips . Maybe a little on the high price side but you are in a lovely area. Would definitely come again.

Not what it was - The 2 sticky toffee puddings for £16 were blocks of sponge, they used to serve a good quality sticky toffee here - no more. On top of that the couple of hot drinks and desert took 20 minutes to be served and an untrained dog was yapping its way around the pub. The Thai takeaway around the back however was top notch - wouldn't order from the main menu again in a hurry though.
