Lovely setting and great food, reasonably priced and service was attentive.Situated at the bottom of Maidenhead High Street, not much parking but you can find plenty dotted around.Photos of food included.

PadamThis is a new name at Sorano. New menu and new chef . The service was very good plenty of happy staff willing to help. The menu is vert nice and a step upwards in quality. The chef comes out to see how your food is and seems very keen. I had scallops to start although they were served with roe little gritty but very nice,i would like slightly more truffle taste. I then had carbonara, very nice indeed. A definite improvement on the old restaurant. We were also given some delicious sorbet with a macaroon.First ever visit to Sorano, very nice inside good decoration. We went for breakfast. The menu is good , not huge but fair size. We had the full English and a juice and a diet coke (no zero sold ?) Service was good we sat outside on the hotest day of the year... The food arrived in good time ,we did ask for 2 eggs each ,standard is 1. The eggs were a little over done , lots of tomatoe, a whole one each, to my mind if you serve fresh tomatoes then you need to cook them properly not half raw. Bacon was Italian bacon and very nice indeed, as well as the sausage was very nice as well. Very small portion of beans, and toast was very small rustic bread , and very hard, but tasty, half a pound of butter each i do love butter ,but too much even for me . Overall a nice breakfast, but couple of elements need work, over cooked eggs , hard toast. Will we be back.... of course the bacon was amazing.

Having loved our previous visits to Sorano, we noticed immediately on arrival that the menu had changed. Not so many choices and no specials. The waitress was very attentive and friendly though. She explained that the restaurant had been sold and that the wine list had been replaced with Albanian wines only. With only one white at £36 she kindly allowed us a little taste but it wasn’t to our liking as Pinot fans (and we thought it rather costly) so we opted for Prosecco at £30 instead. The whole pizza menu was apparently not available that evening. Plus I ordered mussels but were told they had none left. The dishes we had were tasty, but we were disappointed with the lack of choice.

This didnt start well, despite me having booked by telephone 10 days prior, they were not expecting us Had to re arrange the set up for our group (10 people) Arrival drinks service was poor, with both drinks forgotten and incorrect drinks presented. Food order taking, took ages for the service to arrive On a positive the starters and main courses arrived in good time and were as expected Generally the food was quite good. Order taking for further drinks was very slow And the dessert course took far too long to arrive All of our desserts were un cooked (ice cream and cheese plates Overall I left very disapointed, let down As I had made the booking on behalf of friends There are far better restaurants in town, for very little extra cost. This could be a great place to eat, however I feel its badly let down by staff attitude

Went here for my leaving party, and it went down hill from the start. Drinks orders came in drive and drabs we had to ask repeatedly for the rest of the drinks. Starters arrived well some did then we had to ask twice for the rest of the tables orders while other tables got there orders. This was then repeated when we had the main course. Finally we had cheese and ice cream for dessert, after 20 min this arrived again 2 by 2 the ice cream was almost totally melted. 3 serving drinks behind the bar 2 people at the front 1 taking orders doing a great job 1 I can only assume was management as they spent more time on there phone and causing problems but interfering. Food oh yes it was alright nothing to boast about and definitely not encouraging me to go back.

Horrible. We are fully vegetarian and ordered a risotto from the menu which was marked (VG). It comes out and has chicken in it. We were then told it was an error in the menu. Not a good experience for vegetarians to be served chicken (by error)!! Whats more so there was no apologies or even a partial bill refund.Vegetarian options: Will be served chicken by error to vegetarians

Honestly the best restaurant experience for years. I don't know why it wasn't busy, it deserves to be packed. The menu is great. I had the bruschetta to start, then Risotto Sorano. All food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were lovely. Try it, you won't regret it.

Starter (salt and pepper squid) was fabulous but the mains were poor and a bit strange. The seabass (which according to the menu comes with both courgette *and* zucchini) was overcooked to bitterness. My companions' dishes came with some very impressive looking king prawns but peeling a huge prawn isn't much fun and when you pull a prawn's head off and a load of liquid spills out it's a bit grim. The prawn salad comes with just an insane number of olives as well. There are four other Italian restaurants across the road - I recommend going to one of those instead.

Dropped in as a "walk-by" and would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The service, the food (especially the food) and atmosphere was all incredible. Wish we live in Maidenhead so we could attend more often but if we're ever close by, we will definitely visit again. Cannot say anything negative at all.
