Evening dinner Call in on our way back from a meeting Wow or my was amazing Prawn purée starter Main course Karachi chicken mushroom Bargi Sag aloo plain garlic nan All cooked perfectly and very tasty and enough for 2 I would say the best in Cookham and the service was excellent well done to Hasan and the team It was very busy for a Wednesday night I’m looking forward to returning to try the rest of the menu many times Mike

Came with a party of 10 for a special occasion, the waiting staff went the extra mile and beyond for us, and the food was incredible. Would recommend to anyone.

We were given a voucher for an afternoon tea for two, which we used for a lunchtime visit. Very enjoyable, delicious pulled chicken tikka masala wraps and lots of other savoury goodies, followed by several desserts, ice cream and scones and jam. This last defeated us but the helpful staff packed them up for us to enjoy later. There’s a great choice of teas - we went for the Spice Merchant own blend and Masala Chai - and it was an experience I would thoroughly recommend.

Really fantastic food and a lovely change to usual traditional afternoon tea! Especially as vegetarians - there were great delicious options!Lovely atmosphere and great service too! Would definitely recommend!My only suggestion is, as an Indian afternoon tea I was disappointed that they didn’t serve real masala chai - we hope the next time we visit we can have properly brewed desi masala chai! This would make the afternoon tea perfect!

An absolute taste sensation, with formidable service by Hassan. Starters of monkfish and prawn tandoor were outstanding, with outstanding lamb chettinad and lamb mateer as mains. A mango lassi was most welcome on a hot and humid afternoon also! Smashing food and service, and shall return!

I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken & lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory!
