Haven't been to a Toby Carvery for probably 15 years. We went for Sunday lunch. We ordered 2 Sunday roasts and a Salmon and Prawn Wellington. I will start with the latter. It was all pastry and no filling. The piece of Salmon was 3cm X 3cm and ONE small prawn. The pastry was burnt. For £14 you expect at least 2 prawns. The Sunday roast was OK, a little stingy with the meat portion but the Yorkshire pudding was massive, filling a third of the plate. The roast potatoes were not crispy a bit oily and anaemic. The veg was OK and gravy very watery. The whole plate of food was Luke warm. On a positive the staff was very nice. I don't know if this is consistent with all Toby Carvery but Maidenhead certainly need to up your game. Don't think I will ever return.

We visited today and our waitress Scarlett was very helpful and kind. She checked to make sure we were happy with our meals and nothing was too much trouble.

Booked breakfast with Santa for the kids as we usually do every year as a start to our Christmas festivities, unfortunately im appalled by the effort that was put into this.. its a magical time for kids and my daughter literally saw Santa for 10 seconds, she was given a chocolate and a colouring bag, no other interaction, not asked what she wants for Xmas or what she would leave for Santa, no offer for a picture either, some people were sitting on chairs near Santa pretending to be elves but wearing normal clothes, Santa was super skinny and young and not believable at all.. also this year not arts and crafts or making reeinder food for the kids which was a highlight for my daughter on previous years. Very disappointed and if you have booked breakfast with Santa please don't bother and choose somewhere else. The cost of living has hit as all but please feed Santa before displaying him in your restaurant and try at least to make it a little believable for the kids. If you can't do it right then please don't do it.. for the price of this event you really should have tried harder.

Shocking !! Came in with my two grandchildren and was advised to book as the restaurant was 1/5 full !! Ordered a carvery and chicken nuggets and fish fingers form the children's menu , ate my carvery and the children’s meals didn’t arrive so the children had some vegetables, asked the guy who advised me to book he told me they were just plaiting the kids meals, had to ask again to be told 5 min, had to again to be told 5 min, I told the young lady to cancel asked for the bill to be changed with two children’s veg carvery’s!!! My 4 year old grandson asked why did we come here Grandad !!! Why didn’t we go to Mac Donald’s

Popped into the Toby for lunch with my daughter. We didn't book, but we were offered a table in the bar area, which was fine. There was a good selection. We collected our roast. Everything tasted great. The only complaint was that the dinner was not very warm.

The meal was excellent. The waitress was fantastic. One of the people with me can't walk well and has a cane. She came with me to the Carvery section and got the meal for that gentleman and then carried a plate for my client to help him. She also helped me with my blue light card app as it was having trouble that day.

The food was ok - I am vegetarian and for me, the options here are very limited. Service was excellent. Most disappointing aspect was where we were placed. We were a group of 15 people and I asked the manager one month beforehand for a place where we could have some privacy. He took me to a function room where there was one long table and he said that he would reserve it for us. I even paid upfront the deposit for the meal. When we turned up, we were given 2 tables in the general seating area - I was very disappointed to say the least. It was noisy, we had little privacy and most importantly, our wishes weren’t respected. I will not return here again.Vegetarian options: As I said above, this is not the place to come to if you are vegetarian- extremely limited choices; I chose the fish wellington option because of this - not bad, but far too heavy on the stomach. I would not recommend this place for vegetarians.

Absolutely filthy placeFood stone cold and meat was served below minimum temperature dirty servers in dirty clothes that didn't look like they had been washed in like a week. think food standard agency needs to pay a visit .You make a complaint about it as to be told staff since then have completed training surely they should have received training before hand. avoid !!!!

Worst ever experience of eating out. From the dismissive non welcome when we arrived, staff clearly un trained, didn't know the drinks available (e,g. what ciders do you have ?) we had to wait over 30 minutes for drinks to arrive, even after chasing up the drinks, still took another 5-10 mins to arrive. There were only 4 or 5 tables, at least 5 staff, ainless wandering around, apparently on one in the kitchen. Ordered starters, staff then came back to say no prawn cocktail available, food took ages to arrive, food was below average quality, Then visited the carvery, Gammon tasted not bad, the rest looked tired, dry & cold, the spoons on the veg counter were red hot, but food was cold & dry, gravy cold, appalling poor quality of meat & veg, animals would eat better. Food had clearly been sitting around for hours, the yorkshire puddings were like bullets. Worst meal ever.We ordered more drinks, one was a nil alcohol peroni (normally a half pint bottle) , a pint of normal alcoholic peroni in a pint glass was served, 5 mins later staff returned to say the peroni was wrong & changed to the correct non-alcohol bottle, luckily the driver didn't drink the alcoholic glass. The ladies toilets were disgusting state, no toliet paper, dirty/filthy condition, clearly not cleaned or checked. When we complained manager was non existent, just sent his junior staff to try & resolve issues, is that how your management behave in a cowardly manner, just dump your young waiters in the mire, I feel sorry for your staff, if that's how there treated. We will never ever visit a Toby again

Shocking food was freezing cold and half of it hard or burnt, no meat due to a problem with cookers but we had booked a few hours previous so you would've thought they would call to let you know. The 2 young waitresses were very good but that was about it.

Good:The food itself was really good, the only thing I would change is the Tomato & Basil soup as it was incredibly watery with pulpy bits of tomato in that were very offputting!Bad:The speed of service was incredibly slow, it took approx. 25 mins for our first drinks to arrive, we didn't order anything complicated either, we had to go and find our waiter to order our Starters as he had assumed we didn't want food? It then took another 40-50 mins for our Starters to arrive, in the mean time we had to go to the bar to order drinks as we knew it would take another 25-30 mins for them to arrive. Once we'd had our carvery, it took our waiter another 30 mins to notice us trying to let him know we had finished and wanted to order our puddings, despite him being stood about 7 foot away from us with no other diners in our area!Overall it could've easily been a much better dining experience if our waiter was a bit more attentive and wasn't stood around on his phone ignoring diners!

Absolutely horrible. Order was 1hour later than told. The order was for the wrong meats. Meat is gristley and chewing. No Yorkshire pudding, a few carrots and a pot full of peas. Not worth the money. Left a message for the restaurant to call 4 days later still no call. A reply to my review is even more insulting. Appreciating a review how about putting it right and offer the correct order or a refund.
