I passed by this restaurant since it opened in April 2022 but hesitant to go in as I did not quite understand what it stood for. However, my curiosity was finally piqued and I sauntered in hoping they had a table on an early week day evening. I got lucky! Patrick the owner was courteous, polite and extremely helpful in explaining the menu containing ‘seasonal and sustainable British tapas and organic wines’.I opted for Berkshire Butchers Steak Sauce Diane, Cambridge Tenderstem Broccoli Wild Garlic Butter and Posset Yorkshire Rhubarb, Meringue to cleanse the palate. All washed down with a 2022 ‘Parcela 333’ Garnacha Blanca, Victor Ausejo, Rioja, Spain. I even had room for a delicious flat white, decaffeinated oat coffee.I thoroughly recommend this place. Particularly at lunch time as they presently offer 3 tapas for £12, Tues-Fri 12 noon-2:30 pm.

This restaurant gives you a different experience. Small tapas-style dishes served not in a given order, but as and when ready. Nicely presented and good food. We had three dishes each and could do a bit of sharing. My only comment would be that it is pricey, even overpriced in some cases, so don't come here if you're on a budget.

Overall disappointed.I had big hopes for the British style tapas ... but each of my dishes just missed being "right" ?e.g. the battered haddock still had the skin on the filter & the batter was soft, which in a small dish wasn't good, the drizzle of mayo wasn't in balance and the peas turned out to be lentils ?Positives were staff very professional and helpful.Place nicely laid out and really like the goat posters. But for the prices charged, the dishes should be spot on and they aren't ☹️ (£45/head with no wine)UPDATE:Responding to "Everything OK", "Yes" was partly me being old and being brought up to always be polite, partly I thought everyone else was happy. It was only at home that various comments were made, and I decided to post my thoughts.Various dishes were rated excellent, e.g. Lost Bread. Some were ying/yang, e.g. Pollock was really good, but the sauce was way too salty ... I had a taste and totally agree, the pollock was lovely.UPDATE:Checked, and the other person who had haddock did not have any skin, the batter was crispy and it tasted very nice.

It's great to see independent restaurants like this in Newbury! They have a very nice, and reasonably priced, wine selection. However, their food portions are tiny for their prices. I am tired of restaurants charging £15+ per small plate and calling it tapas. We ordered the lamb ribs for £20 and we were served 2 ribs in total; that was roughly a sum 4 bites. At the end of the day a restaurant should feed their paying customers. The cheesecake was also very uninspired and lazy. Adding slices of raw chestnut mushrooms doesn't make anything umami. Having said that, I appreciate their effort and understand they too have to deal with increased costs.

I felt really underwhelmed by the experience, I'd heard great things about this place. However I feel the food was over priced for what it is and the descriptions not particularly accurate (for example the scallops were a special, described as 'Cornish scallops with spinach and XO sauce), yet the sauce had anchovies in which gave a grainy texture. I like anchovies, if I knew to have expected them perhaps the texture wouldn't have been odd, at first I thought the graininess came from the spinach. I ordered fizz (my first glass with a meal out since giving birth) and yet they poured it into a wine glass?! When I asked for a champagne flute, they went to get a coupe - I'm happy with either but I don't think you should have to ask for it. No one asked us how the food was whilst we were eating it. Only after we had asked for the bill with the servicer only looking at my husband. Maybe it's the baby hormones or that fact our baby was about to kick off but I just wanted to leave by that point.

I kept saying to myself this is the best place in Newbury, in fact it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been. The food is beyond insane. The service is so relaxed and welcoming. The best part is the guys you’re buying off are the most genuine people I have met in a long time. Newbury is so lucky to have these guys in town.

Been here twice, both times excellent. Impromptu visit last night for my husbands birthday, were seated upstairs in the wine bar- loved it! Chloe was a wonderful enthusiastic hostess, was able to advise us on the menu and wine which were both delicious. We really enjoyed the retro playlist which prompted a very reminiscent conversation.....well done goat on the roof, finally something to write a good review about!

The tapas were divine! The goat curry is a must have and also the ice- creams.Top tip- when making the reservation, select the Chef's table (thank me later)

Lovely little independent restaurant. We went last night for our second visit in 6 months and cannot fault this place. The staff, food and vibe are amazing. They are very good with allergens. Lots of gluten free option's on the menu. Highly recommend booking the chefs table. It was great to be able to chat with the chefs as well. We love that use local produce and how they can come up with such a creative variation of dishes. Definitely on of my top restaurants to visit.

We were excited to try this place for a while. Finally, we went for Valentine's dinner, but we were really let down. The prices were too high for what we got, and the service wasn't good either. Nobody explained the menu to us. We tried the crab salad, ribs, and pork belly, but they were just okay. The crab salad was especially bad. Honestly, I'd suggest skipping this place and trying somewhere else nearby.

Our second time visiting - both times have been a faultless experience start to finish, and its quickly become our favourite restaurant to go too.The food is delicious and thoughtfully put together, and the passion for local produce is clear throughout the menu -Well worth the price too support local growers and independant restaurants. The team took the time to chat with us and make you feel welcome even sharing recipes whilst they worked. Thanks again for a fantastic experience! We will be back soon.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of choice for most dietaries
