Cutlery was dirty, side plates were dirty, glasses were dirty had to ask to get them changed. Waitress was lovely but the whole expereince felt rushed. Drinks took ages to come. The toilets didnt have toilet role, the floor was extremly sticky.Really gone down hill.

Had the lunchtime menu. Mains and dessert. I had fish and chips . Fish was very small, and the chips were overdone and had lots of bits . They said they would comp my dessert, but I still paid for 2 courses. They did not seem to understand.

First of all I came here for a pint and it's bloody flat for a expensive pint then I went for piss and over heard a staff member making a joke about their dad not getting milk. How lovely?

We have visited this pub regularly over the years and it has always been very good, if a bit on the more expensive side, for a pub meal. Family was visiting so we decided to go to the Red Lion for dinner. The service was ok, however the food was definitely not up to the usual standard. The lamb was a bit chewy and fatty and we did mention this to the waitress who passed our comments to the chef. We ordered a trio of mini desserts, which was really two mini desserts with a dish of whipped cream, two raspberries and a small piece of meringue (supposed to be a mixed berry pavlova). They manager did take the desserts off the total cost of the meal for which we were grateful. On another note, the toilets were grubby, especially the men’s which smelt of urine, and both would benefit from a deep clean and refurbished. I’m not sure if there has been a change in chef, management and staff since September but we do feel the pub is not as good as it used to be which is a shame.
