We met up with friends for a Christmas reunion in the Trooper, we were several families with young children and they gave us the big room at the back of the pub.The waiter was quite rude all the time, but even more so when I dared asking him to lend me a dustpan and brush, because I spotted some glass under a table. He said very bluntly that it’s a pub so not a surprise. The kids and some adults then played tag in their outdoor patio, and my son fell on a screw that was upside down, it was supposed to hold the fake grass down.He cut open his knee REALLY BAD, and the waiter was even more rude then, saying there weren’t supposed to be running around. Anyway, they did not try to help in anyway, nor apologized. So all I can say is, the worst service I’ve come across so far in the UK! And not a kid friendly place of course.

OK, Typical pub. We hired the back room for our yearly friends and family meet-up! Good space, £10 for a pie is pretty steep, and it's the only thing on the menu (and chips you pay extra for). It was a good pie, but £10.... ? warning beer garden is not child friendly as one of our friends' kids fell on an exposed screw and had to go to hospital for stitches on his knee!!Beer was good and great. HUGE selection on Gin!!!Food & drinks: Expensive and little choice (just Pies)Noteworthy details: It's a PUB!!!! There might be rooms to rent but unsure!!

Excellent selection of lagers and beers, both local and national/international. Ordered the ‘Pieminister’ Steak and blue cheese pie, which came with chips (and optional mushy peas) and was really tasty. Incredibly wet day and the chap behind the bar kindly lit the log burner enabling me to dry my wet kit before setting off. Bircino’s coffee van run by Fabio also frequents their outside space and is well worth a visit. Possible to sit in the sun trap garden if you buy a coffee also. Homely/vintage GB ?? decor and friendly service completes the 5* review. Thanks, will be back! Tom

Stayed for 1 night in one of these rooms - never again. Very uncomfortable beds, dusty cushions ( not needed as there is no where to sit). Shower head dirty & so water only trickled out. So bad we left early hours of the morning. Only writing this so that no one else has to suffer

Popped in for a look. £11.75 for a pint of bitter and a half of Staropramen. That was after being overlooked at the bar when the person behind me was served first. Unimpressed, to say the least. Best avoided.

We had a brilliant stay at the Windsor Trooper. 4 of us shared a family sized room which a great size. There was a double bed, single and a put up bed. All very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. The pub itself is nice, and the rooms are adjacent to the garden in a separate building. We returned to our room at 10pm after eating out, and there was no noise from the pub or garden. The pub offers a great location to explore all of Windsor.

We stayed for three nights and my only complaint was the mattress as I suffer from back problems. (I felt the springs, and it was soft) My wife who doesn't suffer from back problems felt the mattress was fine. Good pub for your night cap before you retire to your room.
