Food was good, but expensive for a "pub". But it felt it was more of a restaurant than a pub. Drinks not cheap either and a lack of choice of wine. I suppose it keeps the riff raff away!

The service in the dining area/pub is all fake smiles and pretentious nonsense. The food is inconsistent. The outside area is filthy with cigarette butts everywhere. The staff hide from customers when things don't go well - which is often. Once a pleasant place to visit, now just an embarrassment. Add in the ridiculous prices and you have to be an idiot to eat here. AVOID
What a night! Last-minute reservation at The Winning Post Restaurant for New Year's Eve turned out to be an absolute delight. The venison wellington was a culinary masterpiece! Tender venison in flaky pastry shell, bursting with flavors. The chefs truly know their craft. Impeccable service and excellent recommendations. They made our evening special. Cozy and elegant ambiance, perfect for New Year's Eve. Tasteful decor and soft lighting added to the charm. Menu catered to all tastes and dietary preferences. Exceptional wine selection. A perfect evening at The Winning Post Restaurant. From the stunning venison wellington to the impeccable service, every moment was a celebration. Highly recommended.

Waitress coughed on us continuously instead of just stepping to the side into the empty booth next to us, I ordered two drinks neither of which were in stock, third time lucky but we had to remind them we were still waiting on my drink. We are locals and often come here, can say the quality of food and service has sadly gone down.

What a find. The Landlord (Simon?) is great fun and so welcoming and working all the time. The staff are well trained and just superb. One waitress with her hair in a top knotch stood out being charming and very professional. She may have been the manager. The food was of reasonable price and delicious being all home made. Such a rare treat to have hot plates. This place is all about detail, well run and loved. We stayed in one of the excellent bedrooms. Spotless, quiet, superb beds. I was hobblng with a crutch and asked for a ground floor room which I had with a small garden terrace. We will certainly return.
