I went to Hamlet for brunch on Sunday. The staff went above and beyond! They squeezed us in, even though they were back-to-back full all day. We had lovely, friendly service and delicious food. We all had something different to eat - sausage sandwich, poached eggs on toast, salmon lox and eggs royale. The eggs royale were the best I have had anywhere - 100% recommend. We had coffees and teas with our food, and sat looking out across Wokingham. We weren’t rushed at all, despite it being busy, and overall had a lovely meal! Will be returning very shortly! Very disappointing. Had high hopes judging by the reviews.The home made baked beans were extremely sweet to the point that I couldn’t eat them. The poached eggs were snotty. The coffee over extracted and bitter.2 of the same order came out with different items. We questioned why, then tried charged us for what they admitted was the chefs mistake.Such a shame.

Love this place! Great selection of delicious food - we shared a mix of starters and sharing dishes, then had two pudding with 4 spoons, all very tasty - photos don’t do it justice. Always good service, would definitely recommend.

The decor was distinctive and the restaurant coped admirably with all our faffing about with how many seats we needed and where to put them! The staff were friendly and had a good sense of humour. The service was good and the food was delicious. We weren’t rushed and this added to the pleasant experience.

We had another awesome night at Hamlet. Great food and drink (try the Korean Chicken), friendly service, chilled atmosphere. We recommend it to our friends and they always agree that the food is amazing!

Food was nothing special and very overpriced although very well presented. Salt was the dominant flavour in my chicken dish and you need to order sides to make a complete meal. Bottle of wine and 2 glasses were placed on our table with no words and no eye contact. We had to ask for a bottle of water 10 minutes after arriving and then received the bill and then had to ask again to pay. A little surprised to see that 14% service charge had already been added. Very disappointing evening. Too many staff doing too little.
First visit to Hamlet last night and surprised it was quite quiet considering the excellent fayre they have on offer. We turned it into a "tapas" style meal with different plates arriving at different times and it was just about perfect. Staff were great and will definitely return to try the taster menu. I was disappointed when Pan disappeared but this will be the new go-to in town from now on.

The quality of the sausages and bacon was subpar, and the baked beans were inedible. In addition, the service provided by the staff was disappointingly slow and lacking in attentiveness.Starting with the food, the sausages and bacon were of noticeably poor quality and they lacked flavour, which detracted from the dining experience. The baked beans, on the other hand, were completely inedible due to their unpleasant taste and texture. It was clear that the ingredients used were of low quality, and this greatly impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal.Furthermore, the service at was remarkably sluggish. The staff seemed uninformed and disinterested, taking an excessive amount of time to acknowledge our presence and provide menus. Even after we placed our drink order, we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for them to be served. To make matters worse, we didn't receive one of the drinks we had requested, showing a lack of attention to detail or care from the staff.In summary, I regret to say that my experience was quite underwhelming. The poor quality of sausages and bacon, along with inedible baked beans, left me unsatisfied with the breakfast. Moreover, the slow and inattentive service provided by the staff further exacerbated the already poor experience. I hope the restaurant management takes note of these shortcomings and takes steps to rectify them for future customers.

25minutes wait from when we were seated to someone taking order… we actually had to come inside to place our order. Despite plenty of team members and manager, no one was interested in looking after guests.

Been a few times and the food is as good as it gets, but service is very hit and miss. Lots of inexperienced front of house, which is fine, but not managed at all. Manager type character just hides away instead of leading the team.
