We came for a private event but decided to eat beforehand.The menu gives the illusion of being basic and standard but boy was I surprised. The food was actually unreal, I had a the prawn pasta and it was one of the best I’ve had in a long long time. Highly recommended, very underrated gem. Will definitely be coming back

I planned my husband’s 30th surprise birthday here and honestly from the very beginning I knew I was in good hands with Elsa. She went above and beyond to ensure everything went well. I was very anxious but was reassured to the point where I didn’t need to worry all I needed to do after the planning was to enjoy and everyone had a fabulous time!The cocktails are AMAZING, the food is AMAZING and the atmosphere from the DJ was top notchI would highly recommend to organise a private function here or simply to come and enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere

My family and I decided to come here after Christmas Eve mass and we had such a good time. This family-run business is incredibly wholesome and was patient with our orders too. I’m so grateful they took us in, and the lamb roast is to die for !! Some of us have already made plans to return for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, etc … 10/10 would recommend !!!

The Hamlet has two/three purposes.The first is it has a small bare area with stools , only a couple, which I have seen people sit at and have a drink. The second is the restaurant, and I must say portion sizes are good and the food was very good. Service is prompt and good, you don't wait too long for you food once ordered. If you want to have a quiet conversation this might not be the right place as the restaurant is small the conversations can get loud.The third purpose is the downstairs space that you can higher for your celebrations. It has its own bar so no need to go upstairs for drinks. The space can hold 30/40 people comfortably if you want to have a dance. The Hamlet can dress the room and provide finger food for your party. They have a built in DJ booth, your DJ just needs to plug in and play.If you are in south london and looking for a venue to have a celebration this is a space to consider.
Went for cocktails before going on to restaurant and than nipped back for a nightcap. Staff are very welcoming and made the whole evening very special.

I decided to have my big birthday here and it was great. Elsa was very accommodating and helpful and she was able to provide the decorations as well. If you are looking for a venue with not alot of guests this is the spot. Everyone had a great time and all of the staff were super helpful. Would definitely book this venue again.

A little Gem, in Streatham.Atmosphere had been fantastic, they greeting us as soon as walked in.I had table booking via phone.Claudio gave to us an overall experience. Polite guy, friendly also Great Bartender, he made a superb Bloody Mary. The Chef cooked a nice steak!The Hamlet it's fabulous a nice environment, I personally love the lay out, and all the decorations, super comfy seats, nice area dining, and Good location too very easy to reach,like fews mins walk from Streatham Hill Station.Don't miss it. It deserves more than one visit, as their food menu it's fabulous, lots of options, especially during the week.My next would be Sunday Roast!Great Choices of Cocktails.
