Had a great meal earlier this year so I took my husband & daughter to celebrate his birthday as they both love tapas & paella. The tapas we ordered were pretty OK but nothing special but the 4 dishes were delivered one at a time over a 40 minute period. Reasonable if dining outside in a Seville square but less so in the uk especially when they then start bringing main courses out before all of the tapas have arrived. The padron peppers & the calamari were the best dishes, the belly pork was dry & chewy & the croquettas were a bit tasteless. My lamb shank was burnt & dry due to being overcooked & served in a very impractical small shallow bowl with a tiny pool of sauce. The Pedro ximenez ribs were slightly better but clearly plated up hurriedly & very messily with just a mountain of salad leaves. The fajitas looked nicely presented but apparently were nowhere near as good as those I make at home! Service was slow, sloppy & unprofessional. I had to ask one rather slovenly dressed male server to clear some dishes & glasses (tables aren't huge) & he just grunted & took a couple away. We weren't asked at any time if we were enjoying our meal & although we quite fancied having desert, we decided that the experience was just too dismal to wait. When I went to pay, the manager was there so I said that we were disappointed with the food & the service. He offered no apology at all but just said they didn't expect to be busy in January (not our problem) & their online system had allowed too many bookings too close together (also not our problem) For just over £100, I was left feeling distinctly underwhelmed & probably won't bother going again which is a shame as we love great Spanish food but this just isn't worth it.

Had high expectations, received a warm welcome and staff attentive throughout. White sangria was lovely but that was the highlight. Tapas dishes were good but not spectacular. Meat paella was a big disappointment, the meat was 95% bone and really tough. A little overrated in my opinion.

Nice food and our waitress was very accommodating, but she was over-stretched as there we two large parties she was left to serve.

A lovely little tapas restaurant. Food was served quickly and whilst still hot. They also do a very authentic tasting sangria which was enjoyed by both of us. There were also a few dishes that were gluten-free , so that was good for me. The atmosphere within the restaurant was relaxed, although the music may not be to everyone's taste. My only observation was that the staff were more interested in chatting to each other rather than checking if customers needed more drinks.

Probably my favourite place to eat in Wokingham. Emilio and Kelly are both very welcoming and the whole place is quite charming during the winter months. They make the best fajitas I ever had, excellent padron peppers and many other tapas. Always good wines too.

Loved the whole calamari tapas, delicious and garlicky! The salmon main was perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back.

Amazing place and amazing variety of food we ate here last night with friends and children (8 of us) the tapas was amazing lovely wine and atmosphere, the service was good, young staff who didn’t always know what the dishes were but on the whole very good The Santiago cake was delicious, would have preferred pouring than ice cream though but they didn’t have pouring cream The only thing was the menu said 8% service charge added to the bill for groups of 8 or more so I didn’t leave a tip, when I got got home and checked the receipt it wasn’t added, gutted as I would have left a tip

I went here with my husband on Saturday night. They found us a table last minute which we really appreciated. I loved the food. We had bravas, saute vegetables, chorizo and a pork thing (can't remember the name - Not the albondigas). Service was absolutely fine. Not super attentive but it was so busy and I really didn't want a big fuss anyway. Don't go with the expectation that you will get that sort of attention I would say. Wine by the glass was fine. Not amazing but completely drinkable. Only knocked a star off as it was very, very noisy. But it was a busy Saturday night. It lacked a bit of atmosphere. I'd rather have heard some music instead of the large table behind us, but we did get used to it and had a great evening anyway.

The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is relaxed, it's just so easy to have a great time at this place! My previous review still holds true:Food is really tasty, atmosphere really relaxed, service is personal and super friendly. If you want an unpretentious Spanish meal in a down-to-earth environment this is the place to go!Parking: 3 large public car parks within 3 mins walking distance

What ever has happened to Sanpas? This used to be our favourite restaurant before lockdown. Since then we’ve visited twice, first time just after reopening. We were very disappointed but put it down to the long lockdown period. However two weeks ago was our anniversary so decided to give it another try hoping things had improved and would be back to its old standard. What a disappointment. Where are the lovely staff which gave the restaurant such a lovely atmosphere? Now the staff make you feel they just want you to get through your food as quickly as possible and get out, service was terrible. Food, well, another disappointment, Potato Brava and Saute Vegetables, which we used to love were certainly not as tasty, the other dishes were just okay. For desert we ordered the Chorose with rich thick chocolate sauce, the chorose were soggy, not crispy and the sauce was like hot water with a bit of chocolate, certainly not rich and thick, the complete opposite. These we sent back as could not except them. I just have to say what a shame such a lovely restaurant has somehow lost its way, what has happened to the staff that really cared about it , the chefs, the waiting staff? It was Saturday evening and certainly not full, I wander why? We were in and out in an hour. We were there to celebrate. Don’t think we will ever return, such a shame.

Good food and nice staff, one of the best tapas in the local area ,good portions and fairly priced, I would just say sometimes depending on where seated you can feel a bit ontop of another table. Staff were helpful and friendly and there loads of tasty food options,I recommend the padron peppers, the paella ? and I enjoyed the croquettes.

Came for the second time, the last approximately a year ago as we visit relatives in the area and honestly, we will never be returning. For the amount you get and the quality, the food is over priced. The potatoes that were served looked almost off, they were so brown and mushy, not like any patatas bravas I've had anywhere, they looked like they'd been sat in the bottom of a fridge for two weeks before being fried off. The prawns were probably the best tasting dish but seriously over priced for 8 tiny prawns.Moving away from the food, all you can hear from the kitchen are microwaves and timers constantly going off. I have never been to an authentic Spanish restaurant, in England or Spain, that uses timers to cook simple items and I don't even care to know what they were microwaving continuously. They also don't seem to understand that a lot of people speak Spanish nowadays, including children as this is now a standard class in my daughter's primary school and at 9 years old she is basically fluent, so let's not discuss what my 13 and 15 year olds understand, so to hear the chef shouting and swearing at the top of his voice in English and Spanish at and about the poor teenagers working the floor is not only unprofessional but honestly, disgraceful. I hope this gentleman does not have children of his own. Considering timers and microwaves do all his work for him, I don't understand his problem.Last year there was a lovely tall gentleman who went above and beyond for our family meal, maybe these were issues last year when we visited but the service he had provided to us and the children was so exceptional that we obviously hadn't noticed. Unfortunately it transpires he has left and gone to another tapas bar, in all honesty, I don't blame him.Maybe having a man with anger issues and inexperienced teenagers running a restaurant isn't a great business model, if it were a chain I would possibly be a bit more forgiving due to high turnovers and training staff, but this is supposedly a family owned and run restaurant where the turnover doesn't change much according to family members.Personally I'd rather pay for flights to Spain for the family just to go for one meal as it would be less stressful and actually authentic compared to what this place offers.

Amazing food. We have been to this restaurant for 3 years now. Still love every dish that as soon as they came, I totally forgot to take pictures. The chorizo with egg on top is flavoursome but the calamari with garlic just nailed it. The patatas bravas had a unique tomato/cream sauce which is wayyyyy better than usual dishes that I have had in London. Garlic prawns were good esp with bread to lap up the oil. We ordered 8 dishes...basically a bit too much. This is definitely closer to what one gets in Spain. Compliments to the chef and see you again soon.

Great authentic Paella. Everything was delicious. The chorizo cooked in cider and honey is amazing!! This place is becoming a firm favourite in Wokingham.Highly recommended!!
