We really enjoyed a family Sunday lunch here. The team were all so incredibly friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble … which is saying something when you have 3 kids under 8 with you! It wasn’t just Sunday lunch, which 3 out of the 10 of us had… they had the full menu available so we had everything from roasts to all day breakfasts and chicken and beef sizzlers…. Really reasonably priced and again, the team were fantastic. So much so that we’ve booked to go back in 2 weeks … I got the managers name, Gina… so Gina and team… thank you ??

Came here for lunch…. Very busy for January and they seemed very short staffed but the staff were very polite and helpful none the less! Food came out at a reasonable time considering how busy it was and it was hot and very tasty! All in all a great visit! We will deffo be back … thank you

Came in withmy girlfriend and ordered food when the place was not even busy, waited an hour and 20 minutes for mains. I went to the bar after waiting 30 minutes to be told "your next", then another 30 minutes later after other customers had come in, sat down, ordered and got served BEFORE we did even though they arrived after i went and said i want my food or a refund, then the food comes. Mediochre, not worth the wait, avoid this place.

Didn't have any of the food we wanted, waited ages for the food to come and then when it did things missing off the that we werent told u didn't have, horrible food and terrible service, won't be visiting again, birthday ruined !

Thank you to everyone at the brunel today (1st January 2024) we were a large booking with extra guests and were made very welcome. The food was delightful and we all had a great time for a special birthday.

Had an amazing mixed grill chicken is so moist and nicely cooked , made steak rare like I like it . Very good service nice
This was the first time in The Brunel, and definitely the last!My mum and I popped in on 23rd December on a whim as we were passing, I was hungry and fancied brekkie. As we were walking into the pub, a lady was coming out and said "it's bedlam in there" I wish I'd listened and just left! Anyway, we went in and there was rubbish everywhere; apparently there had been an event on that morning for children to see Santa. We found a table which the bar lady cleared for us, I had to wipe it down myself as it was left dirty and wet from spilled drinks.I went to the bar to order a Special Breakfast and a sausage sandwich, there were no sausages! Not a problem, I changed my order to a bacon sandwich, and opted to have extra bacon and hash brown on the breakfast instead of the sausages. I also ordered a pint and a half of Thatchers Blackcurrant and Apple, the bar lady said she would bring the drinks to our table. I placed my order at 11:27am. The bar was stacked with dirty empty glasses, the bar was tended to by one lady who seemed really miserable and there were people making complaints about not receiving their food...At 11:50am we still hadn't received our drinks and the bar lady was nowhere to be seen. I asked one of the girls taking food to people, where the bar lady was as I hadn't had my drinks. She told me she was in the kitchen. Another lady, Also really moody came over and asked what was wrong, so I told her I'd not had my drinks. She tried to charge me again, I had to tell her twice that I'd paid for them with my food order and was told they'd be brought to our table!We were still waiting for our food at 12:26pm, my mum asked one of the ladies how much longer we'd have to wait, she was abruptly told, it would be here in a minute! 12:40pm we finally got our breakfast! To be fair, the food was nice enough, but the service was appalling. I understand they had been busy with the children's party, but that had finished when we got there and there weren't many people left in the pub.. The pub was filthy, miserable and unwelcoming, we definitely won't go back.

Please don’t take your children here, I found bags of drugs on the floor and seen customers showing off there drugs and not hiding it at all and infront of the manager who was there joining them, disgustingAlso just been informed by a friend of my husband that sound like the same people they were in the men’s toilets showing off there drugs and the manager again was sat with them, this is wrong. The police have now been informed hopefully it will get sorted!

Booked online for BD family meal. Table nicely set up but complete mix up on ordering- first course took over an hour. Leon was incredibly helpful and apologetic - and did his best to sort out the mess. Loooong wait between courses. Whole meal took about 3 hours! Another table had a similar wait. One of the genial bar staff was also quite sullen and rude when I ordered our complimentary compensation drinks . All in all, not a great experience but Leon did his best to save the situation. Would have given two stars but had fairly chronic stomach upset and diarrhoea 3 hours after eating there …
