Compact pub selling an interesting and varied selection of (mainly Good Chemistry) ales, without being too pretentious about it.It’s small, but there is a fair amount of seating & a small beer garden (or yard).Has a nice laid back feel; the sort of place to play a game of cards, or just enjoy a drink or two.

Very nice pub, excellent beer, always fresh, unfortunately they do not think my money is good enough for them and do not accept cash, I've fallen on hard times and all my cards are blocked, I only had cash.

I'd been meaning to go for ages, lived up to the hype. Tasty beers, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The mulled cider was a great Christmas addition.

I went in with an injury and I was Helped to a table and they offered me some water. After 15 minutes both the bar staff were looking at their phones and hadn't given it to me so I had to call my boyfriend to ask me to take me home. I offered to pay for something but they didn't take cash. I wanted to show support for the business but that wasn't an option. I'm not sure if this is true according to Andrew. When the old waitress was that it was really friendly but the same staff that she said to speak to ignored me and it was really embarrassing having to put my legs up and ask Other people to help me on the next door table interrupting their conversation.Andrew said that he thought that I was too old but I'm only in my 40s and I don't really appreciate discrimination against people with Motor impairments or based on age bias oh something that I didn't do because I thanked them for their help but it just didn't happen.

I think this is my favourite pub in the city. Super chill, great beers, great bar staff. A good Monday quiz and monthlyish tap takeovers from the best UK breweries.

Great pub but all beers were unfined on my visit , so I didn’t drink them as they give me “trouble downstairs “, shame there couldn’t be at least one non vegan option but everything on cask and in can I was told was unfined. I’m not sure what % of population is vegan but I wasn’t catered for here , great pub otherwise, lovely brewers and cask beer generally.

Went today for the Squawk tap take over, first time I've been. Lovely little bar, great sized inside and outside seating as long as it doesn't get too busy. The bartender Maeve was awesome! super friendly, and clearly knows and loves her craft (not just beer but her chosen job)
