From the outside when we first arrived we thought whoa this is going to be noisy. Broad Leys is on a busy main road with a garage on one side and a police station on the other. However we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the bar. Sympathetically restored with a lot of original features giving an overall feel of warmth and welcome. We were led to a quiet, quirky room with a separate entrance at the side of the pub. By all accounts all the rooms are quirky and pleasant. First off room 3 has low ceilings. Over 5ft 8in you will be in a permanent stoop. There are stairs that lead to an upstairs bathroom with a large comfortable copper bath, sink and toilet. Luckily at night there are sensor light’s which come on as you go up the stairs. The thing that lets the room down are the mattresses. The first mattress was desperate, it was completely kaput and the staff kindly changed it over for one that was slightly better. What made our stay were the staff. Sharona, Chloe and the team could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. When we pointed out about the mattress they didn’t make us feel awkward they just did their best to sort it. Great hospitality and if we are ever in your area again we will not hesitate to stay.

We booked our work Christmas meal for the Wednesday lunchtime the week before Christmas. The supervisor, Chloe, was very friendly and accomdating. All our meals, for every course, arrived together (we were a group of 14) and service was prompt. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were good. The atmosphere was very relaxed and all the staff were polite, helpful and happy. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It was a lovely way to chill out and get ready for Christmas. We look forward to our next visit. We reccomend this venue very highly.

I visited recently with a friend who needed good facilities for clinically vulnerable. They could not do enough to accommodate us and made us feel so welcome. My friend felt so relaxed and so we'll be going back in two weeks.

Was very quiet when we visited on a Wednesday lunchtime in December. But the refurbished very old pub was really beautiful and charming, their Christmas tree was also up. We had delicious paprika & red pepper soup-of-the-day and a fantastic vegan butternut, sun-dried tomato & red pepper hummus salad, followed by a lovely steak & ale pie and a yummy vegan pulled pork burger. The young lady serving us was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely return and also recommend.

Amazing 3 course festive lunch with work colleagues.Went on a Monday lunchtime, so the restaurant was quiet, but it was lovely and warm, and the waitress was very friendly. The food was great and substantial portions. It was my 1st time visiting, but will definitely return.Probably my best works Christmas lunch out for many years!!Food & drinks: Crab pate, slow cooked beef and lemon cheesecake were all excellent. All the other dishes from the set festive lunch menu also looked very good.

What an amazing place ! We stayed overnight in room 1. Comfortably bed, beautiful room with very lovely furniture. Nice size bathroom with bath and very powerful over bath shower. Very clean. Very happy with our stay. There was even a little fridge with a bottle of fresh milk for teas and coffee. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, I had eggs royal and my daughter had full English - apple juice and coffee. Check in was easy, we got there around 9.30 pm. Very welcoming staff. We even left one car there for the day. We had an early evening meal ( party of 6) before travelling home and we all enjoyed our meals. I would absolutely recommend this place !
