This is our favourite place to eat! The food is spectacular and the team are warm and friendly. We love popping in for a drink and to sit by the cosy fire. For a meal, there is no place better. The tasting menu is superb and we never leave disappointed only that we need to wait for the next visit! The wine selection is better than you’d get elsewhere. I’ve been for Sunday lunch, Saturday lunch and evening dinner and can guarantee you will love it if you love food

The Chequers is our favourite restaurant. After a very warm welcome from Dritan and Ranka, the owners, we had a most excellent Sunday lunch. The food is always wonderful and the staff are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the food they are serving. If you have't yet been, do go, you won't regret it.

Always has amazing food and is very well priced, but the difference with this restaurant compared to others is that they get to know you and become friends with you. Super friendly stuff all around and amazing service. I would eat here everyday if I had the time.

Once again, another absolutely fantastic meal out. The food was wonderful and I do highly recommend the Tasting Menu (an A La Carte menu is also available) or on this occasion, something from the Sunday Lunch menu. We usually have wine, which is always carefully picked and is decently priced. The staff are brilliant and helpful. I could and would recommend this place to anyone for a romantic evening, or a nice night out.

This place is a real gem - the food is absolutely incredible, and the front-of-house team are fantastic. We’ve been twice now, and we intend to return as often as possible.

The food was very good. The restaurants I feel could be a little softer round the edges as it was cold and a bit uninviting The service was very good.

We had Sunday lunch at this restaurant with friends . Two chose the chowder, it was unusual and really exciting . Two chose the mackerel pate … that went down well . For mains three chose the fillet roast and one the lamb fillet …. Excellent ( too many roast potatoes for some ) …. To finish three chose the tart tatin and one the choc caramel tart. The tart tatin was most unusual but never less tasty . Service was efficient and friendly. A bottle of Bechereau Pomerol helped the lunch go in a flash. Well done the kitchen and the team

We had dinner here during our short visit to Aylesbury - mainly prompted by the great reviews - and it certainly didn't disappoint in any way. As others have said, the team have the balance just right in terms of a genuinely warm welcome, background music that was eclectic and discreet enough to mask other guests' conversations, great food served attractively at a table dressed in crisp white linen - in fact the whole restaurant was a tasteful blend of new and old. We had good advice about the dishes ad serving sizes and accompaniments (we had eaten a large lunch so didn't want to over order!). Each dish was delicious. The scallops (small plate) served as my main course and it was amazing - as was the cheese and chive mash that accompanied it. I would definitely return if we are ever in the area.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at this place. For starter we had a delicious english muffin loaf, pork and apple butter and baby pork ribs, BBQ glaze, peanut and cackling crumb!!! Main course we had a medium rare hereford fillet of beef, roasted shallot puree, pommes Anna, bordelaise sauce- with cheese and chive mash and sautée cabbage and onions. All cooked to perfection!!!! The The pick me up Tiramisu with foxdent dark rum was to die for!!!! Amazing food experience. The ambience, the service and the music selection on the background was all perfect! Mr Lani and his team looked after us so well. Passionate, well organised and talented staff, delivering top quality Michelin style food!!! We will be back for sure!!!!
