Friendly, good beer. Just popped in for a quick beer at about 10:20pm.

The Stag is poised for a massive face-lift under new management. The food is already very good, but once they refit the kitchen, I expect it will get even better.Kid-friendliness: There is a playground in the garden. Rumour has it that the new owner intends to make the garden even more family-friendly.

Very limited menu especially for lunch and quite a dull menu too. Just plain boring pub food Staff are friendly. Decor and furniture tired old fashioned Could do with a make over The best thing about this pub is the view This pub has a lot of potential if it had a makeover and a better menu

Superb food. And Rebellion beer is always a big plus! And then there's the great view to the south. 11/10

A very limited menu. I chose the pizza which I enjoyed, my wife chose the fish and chips which she didn’t enjoy. The fish was very dry and overcooked. One of our party chose the salmon fillet with salad, she paid £8 for a bowl of green salad and £8 for the salmon fillet, she considered this much too expensive for what she had.It was very cold in the pub. There were 9 of us in our party and we meet once a month we were hoping to use the Stag every month, but we probably won’t after today’s experience.

Booked Sunday lunch for 4 people. Place was empty when we arrived at mid day. Lovely looking bar and restaurant, a warm welcome received, and our drinks were promptly served. Sunday lunch ordered, 3 Beef and 1 chicken. It went downhill after that.... It took 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. The 3 x sliced beef were sinewy and chewy and the chicken was more like a small chick. Cauliflower cheese and stuffing were at an extra charge (!) and the undercooked cabbage not so much al dente as al dentist! Very disappointing dining experience.

What a let down... We used to come to this pub many years ago (pre-children) and always had a nice time. The food was good and the place was always busy. However we stopped coming after a bad experience with some truly awful good/service.Now several years on we thought we'd give the place another go as it was a sunny Saturday and we know the beer garden offers shade, stunning views and a play area for the kids.We arrived just after the pub opened and ordered a drink - all good so far. We were told that the normal menu wasn't on as they were having an all day BBQ - not a problem and so we ordered the Cheese Burger & Fries (£11) and Chicken Burger & Fries plus Cod Goujons for our son. What we were served was not good. Firstly, they were having trouble lighting the BBQ but somehow our food still arrived before they got it going... Clearly the food was cooked in the kitchen instead but nothing was said when they served it, nor were we given the option to wait until they lit the BBQ. The food itself was frankly a rip off - the Cheese Burger consisted of a beef party, slice of cheese, bun and some chips. Not a shred of lettuce or tomato or sauce, nothing else. Honestly, I've paid less and had more from a car park burger van! It was the same with the Chicken Burger - chicken, a bun and some chips.I wish we'd taken photos but I got distracted and only remembered when we finished eating. FYI, the photo is off the serving boxes that the food came in (remind you of any car park burger vans...)Unsurprisingly the pub was not very busy which, given the location and views plus the weather that day, was initially surprising but understandable based on our experience. For comparison the Bounty in Bourne End that we had lunch at the week before had a half full beer garden 30 minutes before they opened!Good things to say about the pub were a pretty decent selection of drinks, the previously mentioned views and the kids play area (although that needs some TLC).Sadly though I do not see us going back and suspect that in a few years those views will only be enjoyed from the balconies of the flats that get developed on the land.

Popped down on several occasions, both recently and most certainly of long ago. Most wonderful views whilst dining.Great to see locals who I once attended my secondary school years with.Very welcoming team who appear very enpointe with ensuring their guests are well catered for.Their kindness extended to hosting my daughters gender reveal most recently as well as hosting their own Stagfest event which I am certain was of HUGE success!!Thank you for going above and beyond and accommodating all needs ❤ keep doing what you do best, you're doing a sterling job x

I go here because of the great views across the valley to Marlow - but the service and food is also very good.

This is such a lovely place to visit. I hadn't been for such a long time and decided to take my mum in law there for a coffee and some brunch on Saturday morning. We managed to get one of the tables by the big glass doors so we could look at the view and watch the birds fly across the valley. Such a treat. Oh and the food was lovely too ?Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie things to choose from.

Great Sunday Lunch, staff went over and above to accommodate my dietary needs making a fab salad with creme fraiche and dill dressing to go with my small haddock. ?

Popped in for a quick lunch. Is changed a lot over the 45 years I've been going there sometimes up, sometimes down. This time the food was good but the service miserable. No sense of welcome, just going through the motions before sitting the other side of the bar with the boyfriend! I'll give it another year or so (possibly less) and try it again under the next owner.
