A great pub with friendly staff, we stopped it here a few times now for a quick drink after work it's a nice stress free environment. We will be back when next working that way

Always a pleasure to eat at the golden cross. Fantastic food at a good price. I believe it's changing hands soon though.

As usual we are always greeted by friendly Chatty staff, regardless of how busy they are. MEALS are still large portions with freshly cooked Vegetables, usually 3 types. No price increases here or Smaller portions and still such a large choice .

Bear in mind that it's a pub without frills, it's the place to get a good wholesome meal at a reasonable price. I have been going for years and not ever disappointed. Well done to Mark the landlord and his staff.

First time visit. Really nice pub, lovely service and food. Will certainly return at some point, once baby is big enough. Thank you

Most disappointing roast dinner- gravy basically water- vegetables hard and undercookedMost unhygienic- a man was unblocking the sewage, which made it impossible for people to sit in the garden without passing out from the fumes. We can see human waste splashing around. And, we can’t enjoy food indoors as the smell went in the pub! I don’t know why they decided to do this @ 3pm on a Sunday.

Went to this pub after a lovely walk in the Chilterns. Conveniently located near Saunderton train station with a free car park outside. Large outdoor area with some play equipment but not used as we visited in winter. Staff very friendly and welcoming and definitely worth a visit for this alone! We had a drink and then some dinner. Typical pub fare on the menu but perhaps more vegetarian options than you would normally get in similar places - chilli, veg curry etc. We had the mixed grill and the fish and chips - both hit the spot after a long walk.
