Had lunch at Loch Fyne today, had the £70.00 Shell Fish platter. The whole dish was underwhelming !! Would I order again? No. Firstly they did not have oysters, so asked to be replaced with scallops again they did not have so topped up with extra prawns. This is the second time we have visited LF at Woburn and second time they did not have what we wanted to order. I do understand, that at times things can be hard to get but Lock Fyne not being able to get shell fish I found hard to understand. The Lobster was ok, crab was 90% brown meat and prawns were very average. The staff never asked if the meal was ok at any time. I had to ask for the table to be cleaned between courses, I expected them to do that as part of the clearing of the table. The desert was tasty but very tiny not worth the £6/7 pound charge. Overall, will we visit there again? Sorry to say as we love shell fish, no we will not be returning.

Usually attentive staff and good food. Last night the service was patchy and the food caused a stomach upset in the middle of the night. I also notice that, like some restaurants, they are starting to add a service charge of 10% without consultation. I consider that a service charge is included when paying inflated restaurant prices, but usually add a tip for good service in the hope it will go to the waitress/waiter. Obviously a tip may still be expected, but I'm afraid that's taking the mickey! Especially when the service was not up to standard. Average or less.

Absolutely bang average frozen seafood and terrible service. No oysters apparently there’s a shortage so we went to the shop and brought some the next day. Very disappointed

We’re regulars because we enjoy the fish dishes and the service is good. There’s a good choice , even if you don’t enjoy fish.

Slow service...we were sat immediately at our booking time, however, no one came to even take a drink order for another 15 mins. Oysters were OK, a bit on the small side. Mussels and scotch egg were nice. We split the Mixed Grill and it was plenty for the 2 of us. Pudding was lovely. Overall, everything was just...OK. Certainly not blown away by anything. The slow service just put a down mood on the evening.

I arranged a birthday meal here for my partner - we had a very serene evening in a beautiful setting, with exquisite, top-quality dishes and very attentive and professional service. I'd highly recommend their Loch Fyne Mixed Grill or their Yellowfin Tuna, both were wonderful matched with a white wine. Treat yourself to the creme brulee to finish!!

We was so looking forward to having lunch here but was so disappointed as the food was so bad my brother had the fish pie and was ill for a week. I had the fish n chips again not very nice. The owner / managers need to review their menu and change the people who cook the food, staffing and customer service ok.Ps, very expensive and not worth the money.

My wife and I booked a midday meal at Loch Fyne restaurant in Woburn as a special treat for us and our two guests before taking them on a walk through nearby Woburn Estate. The food was bland and grossly overpriced, the service unexceptional. The exorbitant bill offered 25% off the main menu if we return within 4 weeks. Frankly, even a 50% reduction would not induce us to eat there again. Thankfully, we all enjoyed the walk, at least.

Shocked at some of the bad reviews, been to this place numerous times, and never had a bad meal or a bad experience. The food is so flavourful and fresh! The waiters/staff are nothing but friendly. And for the quality of the cooking it’s good value for money. Highly recommend the scallops / mackerel for starter. And as a huge crème brûlée fan, I’d go as far as to say it is by far the best I’ve ever had!

Excellent service from Alessandre very polite and friendly, we ordered a seafood mixed grill which was lovely however 1 prawn really isn’t except-able especially for the price of the meal.

Visited for lunch which we have done many times over the years. I don't know what is happening to this restaurant but prices have risen (which we expected) but portions are smaller and the food wasn't very hot. Once again there were no mussels and the menu is very uninspiring. When we ordered desserts the waiter came back and told us they didn't have one of them - shouldn't this be known before they offer you the dessert list! Also, the temperature in restaurant was very cool and we had to eat with out coats on. With the temperature being 4 degrees outside I would have thought it might have occurred to the management to up the temperature! Not an enjoyable experience.

Very disappointed. To be honest. Took my wife for her birthday dinner as she loves seafood and we had always had nice food at Loch Fyne though first time at the Woburn restaurant.Starters, we both thought were expensive for what was served and have to be honest a bit bland, thankfully salt was available on the table. As the driver I also had a coffee but had to chase for a spoon to stir.....Ok we all forget things I appreciate thatMy wife had the seafood mixed grill and was unimpressed by that course as the Squid was very chewy and when she mentioned it the staff member was told it's the way the chef cooks it and some other customers had said the same.....Hello, surely that's a sign to change how you cook the squid? She also ordered Half a Lobster, this came with no tools to get the meet out from those awkward places and only appeared after we asked if any tools are meant to be supplied with the dish. Overall her meal was bland. My course was ok for a fish and chips, though do have to admit it was a really nice piece of cod loinWhen we got home we both felt let down and after spending over a £100 expected more.....Sadly we won't visit again

Visited for a post Covid pre gig meal, having been a regular customer since the early 2000s. I ordered the pork belly and roasted rainbow carrots The food was brought to the table. The brown liquid that covered most of the food was congealed and tasted like a granule based gravy. Not a good start, nevertheless, I gave the plate of food the benefit of the doubt and started eating. The pork belly was a tiny portion, under cooked, with sloppy fat and soft flabby skin instead of crisp crackling. The roasted carrots were sliced into thin strips and the texture was more like boiled carrots that had been given a onceover with a blow torch plus the portion was tiny and amounted to about half a tea cup. The pak choi was overcooked, soft, sloppy and appeared to have none or insufficient of the spices, giving no taste of them at all. The black pudding mash was luke warm and taste less. At this point, I explained to our waitress the shortcomings of the whole plate and the waitress agreed with all my comments. I was asked if I would like anything else. I asked for black pudding and buttered new potatoes. No black pudding available as the mash is bought in ready made....settled for butteted new potatoes. No butter at all on them. I was offered a desert on the house. The waitress bought me the one she suggested. It was excellent. To be fair, the waitrose made some adjustements on the bill without me having to ask. There was also an incentive to visit again. But no consolation, as the evening had been completely spoiled by then. My partner's dish of fish and chips was good. In spite of some prices having been raised by significant amounts since my last visit pre Coved, standards have slipped, portions reduced in size, and corners cut. Disappointing and not condusive to wanting to return.

From the poor service to the distinctly average food; the whole experience was disappointing. We had booked and arrived on time. The staff at the bar saw us but didn't respond for another 10 minutes. The restaurant was empty apart from 1 customer - so what was the delay? We were 'served' by a man who we found hard to understand. He wore a mask but as it only covered his mouth I failed to understand the point! We chose the cod and chips. It looked good but lacked flavour and was very bland. We ordered tea afterwards, the waiter spilt most of the milk & then only a tiny portion between 2 of us. We decided not to order any dessert but opted for another eatery nearby who offered 2 stunning desserts cheerful waiting staff.

Looking forward to oysters but told there was a delivery problem. They should have updated their website. Ordered pate for starters gluten free bread was unpleasant. My friend had fish soup which was tasty. I was excited to have the whole lobster. With fries. Macdonalds fries tasted better. The lobster body was chewy tasteless and a bit watery. I had to ask for prodder and shell cracker. That should come with the dish surely! The claws tasted good but overall not a good dish. Friend had sea bass and. was happy. Rice pudding with ginger and quiwi was nice for dessert. Overall not what I was looking forward to. It will be a while before I eat lobster again let alone visit Loch fyne Woburn.
