Had lunch at Loch Fyne today, had the £70.00 Shell Fish platter. The whole dish was underwhelming !! Would I order again? No. Firstly they did not have oysters, so asked to be replaced with scallops again they did not have so topped up with extra prawns. This is the second time we have visited LF at Woburn and second time they did not have what we wanted to order. Usually attentive staff and good food. Last night the service was patchy and the food caused a stomach upset in the middle of the night. I also notice that, like some restaurants, they are starting to add a service charge of 10% without consultation. I consider that a service charge is included when paying inflated restaurant prices, but usually add a tip for good service in the hope it will go to the waitress/waiter. Slow service...we were sat immediately at our booking time, however, no one came to even take a drink order for another 15 mins. Oysters were OK, a bit on the small side. Mussels and scotch egg were nice. We split the Mixed Grill and it was plenty for the 2 of us. Pudding was lovely. Overall, everything was just...OK. Certainly not blown away by anything. The slow service just put a down mood on the evening.
