Great service, staff all very friendly. As a gluten free customer pizza express is always a safe bet for eating out. It's great that I can eat almost everything on the menu.

Really disappointed. We've eaten at this branch of Pizza Express multiple times over the last few years and love the building and service normally. I booked a table here for tomorrow night over a week ago and received a booking confirmation. I got a further booking confirmation at 6:45pm today reminding me of my confirmed booking, only to get a voicemail message and email 45 minutes later saying they had to cancel my booking because of staff shortages and that they wouldn't be open past 5pm. I understand the difficulties restaurants are having but this was really poor service, especially as I put my reason for booking was a celebration (I just finished my masters degree and this was a celebratory meal). It isn't made clear on the website at all that opening hours are reduced or could be reduced at short notice. We would have booked somewhere else if they were honest about this possibility, especially as closing at 5pm now seems to be a long-term change as it is now impossible to book anything past 5pm on the website for the next several weeks.

We went here last Monday (23rd Aug) and I couldn't believe how poor the service was. Whilst on initial entry the venue is lovely, they had one guy serving all tables and unfortunately this meant there was a large amount of people waiting to be seated with nobody to be seen for about 10 minutes. Eventually a guest in front of us walked toward the tills as someone came out the kitchen and were advised not to stay for food when she asked where everyone was, not what you want to hear from any staff, but especially those cooking your food. After 15-20 minutes of waiting, once seated, the waiter began serving the tables who entered after us so unfortunately we had to just leave and go to another restaurant as there were too many red flags and we didn't want to contribute to keeping a place like that running. Not sure if this is a result of the pandemic and it is just operating very lean but no matter what the only way through will be to get more staff and importantly a team who are happy to be there.

Currently sat here, on Saturday 11th Sept having lunch. Greeting and initial service is good, but once we have had the food arrive.....service is non existent. The waiter mumbles so you don't know what dish is what. Our dinner plates have been sat for 15 minutes after we finished eating and no offer of dessert up to this point, or the clearing of the plates! A waiter has been in and out a few times but completely ignored us.

Gorgeous building, but that is about all the positives I have for this branch of pizza express.I usually visit my local branch but on a day out in Cambridge, decided to eat there. Ordered my usual items but maybe the chef was having a bad day...the bruschetta was overbaked and crispy, and there was only maybe half a teaspoon of basil and tomato so it was also very dry.Second course, again my usual pizza, but it was the worst pizza I've eaten at any pizza express. It waa just a pizza with huge lumps of cheese On it, and not much else. I couldn't believe it was the same pizza I usually order at another branch. I honestly couldn't finish it.Didn't bother to order a pudding.

This Pizza Express is in a lovely part of Cambridge near to the historical centre and is based in the old Pitt Rooms. Not sure what the rooms were for : debating etc I should think. Restaurant is through the back in a wonderful light and airey room with huge windows and domed glass in the ceiling. There is also a wood panelled room but I was not sure what this was for. Covid might mean they are using one room only. Supper pizza and good service from polite and professional staff who were a cut above many. Would go back if in Cambridge again.

I had chicken pesto pasta & it was not just not hot it was hardly warm so much so didn't dare eat it for risk of food poisoning (chicken obviously re-heated... not!!) We eat in Pizza Express often but never again in this particular restaurant. Very disappointed & concerned!!!

Our son has milk, egg, sesame and mustard allergies so eating out is always tricky but this place was excellent. Our server Crystofer was knowledgable, kind, helpful and made us feel at ease. Our son loved his food, as we all did. Will definitely come back

The place is not easy to spot, it’s slightly set back from the road and you don’t realise it’s there till you are literally stood outside it. We had booked in advance but if not I doubt we would have happened upon it. The place is quite different and interesting in terms of decor and not like any of the other pizza express restaurants I’ve ever visited but the seating is split between different areas which meant staff were in and out. We were seated at a table which was half set with cutlery and left for ages before we eventually got someone to take our order. The food came fairly quickly after ordering and was lovely but we had to ask for more cutlery before we could eat it. No one checked back to see if things were ok or if we wanted more drinks. We had to try to get someone’s attention, there wasn’t always staff in the area we were in. Trying to get the bill was also a chore. As I have said the food was all really nice but I think the staff are a bit out of practice and could do with some refresher customer service training maybe?

Collected two pizzas tonight as there was no delivery to my area. When I got home the pizzas were quite cold and as I was in a hotel I couldn’t heat them up, I mention this as this is entirely not the fault of the restaurant but the 15 minute drive. The thing is the pizzas were that good they were great luke warm. The bases were still crisp, full of flavour and not greasy. A thoroughly nice meal. It looks a nice place to eat in also.

For my daughter's 18th Birthday she wanted to go somewhere a little special with friends but also not over the top so she felt uncomfortable. They had all dressed up and were seated in the Library. It felt elegant and grown up with subtle lighting and they were made to feel so special. The meal was delicious and arrived suitably quickly. They had mocktails which added to the sparkle. A super evening and so memorable for my daughter and her friends. (not raucous but beautiful and special and because of Covid , there was not singing of Happy Birthday but the diner's all raised their glasses in a splendid gesture of celebration....very special )

They dropped the jug on the table which shattered the glass and spilled water all over my pants. The waiter came with paper towels to wipe the table without offering any to me and left the soaked paper towels strewn all over the table whilst taking the remaining paper towels away. They then went on to serve the other tables, leaving the mess on the table and everyone at my table confused as to what to do. We decided go leave immediately because I had to change my clothes and the waiter showed me his finger tip with a small plaster to complain to me that he cut his finger while taking the jug away.

Booked a table of 6 expecting a decent meal out. The manager took orders from us and from another table-of-6 10 minutes apart, but their food arrived within 20 minutes while ours took 55. By the time our food had arrived virtually everyone in the rest of the restaurant had finished their food. When approached the manager said they were "busy". Completely unacceptable, and below your standards and our expectations! Do better, Pizza Express, next time take out the irony from your name! One star.

When I saw the photos, I thought it would be a nice place to eat. I was wrong. Whilst the building was lovely, the ambience was cold and unfriendly. The music playing was really distracting because it was cutting out every few minutes. The food was avaerage but really overpriced for what we got. If it wasnt for the fact that we paid using mostly Tesco vouchers, I would have given the rating one star. Really disappointed.
