Tried raw scallop as starter I had not heard of before, it was amazing balanced with the pickled pears omg. Slight problem some dishes weren't available I really wanted moules fritz but mussels weren't fresh at market so fine I had cornish anchovy also amazing be back for more. Small pub trying to do something a bit different treat it as a nice night out with great food surrounded by some local characters loved it.

Proper little pub serving cracking ales, just the way a pub should be. The landlord Neil is a bit ugly but Kuma the dog is beautiful so it balances out! The locals are a decent friendly bunch too so looking forward to my next

Lovely little pub on a much needed break in my journey. There were a few locals in when I got there, they and the staff were very welcoming. I'm not really a dog person, but their dog was very friendly and well kept. I spent quite a bit of time chatting with Neil, running the bar, who is a very experienced and knowledgeable guy. I am super impressed with how inclusive things are at this pub and that seems to be down to him so, thanks and keep up the great work. All in all, it's easy to get to. It's a small place, but that adds to its charm and with such friendly staff and customers I'll definitely be coming back ??

Food N/AWe are passing through and stopped off.We were greeted by the very lovely friendly "pub dog" ? who stayed behind the bar and loved nothing more than a big fuss.Lovely old style pub with a friendly landlord and just as friendly patrons. The atmosphere was great, and to say that we are not locals, we were made most welcome and enjoyed a lovely pint.Angela + Sean we shall return.P.S we cannot understand the negative comment from a couple of weeks ago, the one that states about the "barking" dog.We read this and did think twice about going in, but we make our own minds up.
Lovely little pub, great service, lovely owners, do recommend this place, the dog is very friendly too and so are the

Beautifull Pub, we held our wedding at The Hoops, it was the best day, all the staff and the landlord bent over backwards to make our day so special and memorable. It has a welcoming feeling when entering, it was the perfect venue for our wedding, the garden is huge that we were able to have two very large gazebos, plus an area for the outside caterer. All our guests loved the atmosphere and the venue was actually the talk of the entire day. We regularly visit, and the landlord has introduced many new events, raising money for local charities and arranging different outside caterers, also not forgetting the cosy nights next to the fire pit with a pint goes down a treat. Lovely little pub looking forward to all the exciting things to come in the future.

Proud to count this as my 'local' and share its charm, beer and friendliness with my friends. A great small pub - proper 'boozer' and increasing its outreach via quizzes, live music and the addition of regular food trucks. A gem in a prime location! Thank you Hoops staff for all you're hard work.

What a nice pub. New landlord has taken it on and made it welcoming and fun.Welly wanging competition in the garden was great fun and he organised a party after the coronation for families with children.
