Had to wait 50 minutes for food and when asked didn’t get pleasing

On first glance the prices looked very competitive for a roast dinner, we decided to give it a try. Both me and my other half chose the delicious sounding mixed roast which comprised of roast Turkey, roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, broccoli, garden peas, carrots, gravy, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. At a touch under £15 each this looked a great option. Then it arrived lukewarm, the peas were like bullets, the broccoli was limper than Julian Clarys wrist, the roast potatoes were a boiling potatoes variety which didn't roast, the parsnip was uncuttable with the blunt cutlery, it wasn't all bad, the meat was actually acceptable the gravy and stuffing was nice and had decent flavour even if no warmth at all, we have now seen what can only be described as a "Fen" pudding as it was so flat when it was served there is no way that it could ever be compared or related to any part of what most people would call a Yorkshire pudding. Had we not have paid up front there is no way I would have paid for such a lacklustre and disappointing meal. Did we complain? yes, but in a constructive manner. We were told that its under new management now and they had been trying to improve on what was a low standard, they had even spent time showing new staff how to cook Carrotts, now i wasn't after a free meal but a satisfying one would have been nice. We were offered free drinks however as we had to drive home drinks to the value of a disappointing meal would have lost one of us our licence. Will we go back? Not until they have had chance to kick start the kitchen into action. It's going to be a difficult one to push ourselves in the door again.

Great spot for a Sunday evening meal. Nice atmosphere without being too crowded. Got served by Tasha at the bar who was lovely and friendly while taking our order and making food adaptions for us. There was an "Easy Sunday" menu in place but this included lots of options on top of the Sunday roast options to keep everyone happy. Table of 4

My daughter booked a table for 4 for Friday 15th March for my 82 Birthday the food wasn’t even standard it was very poor quality drinks are drinks so no problem there this is the 5/6 times I have used this venue as I live in London and it’s convenient to meet BUT I’m afraid that was the last time we will be using this place.

The only issue I have with this place is that more often than not, you go to the bar and there is no one serving. You have to stand there for genuinely quite a long time before anyone appears. Which is annoying. Staff are always friendly though.
