I usually order here as the food usually tastes really nice. However tonight was an exception. I ordered a Doner meat, chips and salad and I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. Chips were undercooked and the kebab meat tasted like fish even with the sauce on it. Unfortunately I had to chuck the majority of it away.

Dreadful ! Cod and chips...Apart from the portions being VERY small the food was unedible..Cod had an iodine off smell..chips were very greasy and seemed to be just offcuts ..Barely cooked. Got to be the worst chippy anywhere..certainly the worst ive ever had I will not be buying from Codfather again Try Rumbles in Trumpington..They are awsome !

When I first went to the Codfather about 18 months ago I was impressed by the quality of their fish and chips and the friendliness of the staff. Based on that experience I have returned to buy fish and chips on several occasions trying to convince myself they will be good next time. After a couple more purchases I should have been honest with myself and not returned. The latest takeaway on Saturday of cod and chips was appalling. The chips were hard and dry. The best analogy I can give for the chips is they were like cardboard. Two of the things I wanted on their menu were not available (there were only more expensive options) and the attitude of the person serving showed no care. It's such a pity but I won't be returning and would advise others similarly.

Well...3rd time unlucky on a delivery .I ordered large haddock 2 fishcakes cod roe and large chips ...I got no chips ???? no cod roe.. I got fishcakes but they were cremated ..what chippy doesn't deliver the chips ?? I rang them for an hour but no answer... I pd cash ( plus tip) to driver not knowing what was in the bag ..... this was the 3rd time now I've had wrong items .... seriously not right ... my partner is a barrister and she's seriously thinking this is a crime as in 3rd time ... who doesn't answer there phones to correct their mistakes ??

Well I had to score it 1 as it didn't have a zero option.this is the worst money I've ever spent in my life. Sausage and chips jeez oh the sausage was cooked to an inch of its life darkest brown (burnt) batter I've ever seen or tasted.the chips were certainly cooked but dark and tasteless was a certainty . You can clearly taste the oil was dirty and tasted like it hadn't been changed since last Christmas. I would avoid this place go to the next roundabout and go to mcdonalds. straight in the bin

Placed order on just eat, waited 45 minutes for our food and then the restaurant cancelled the order because "they are unable to make it". Barracuda is a very good chip shop nearby, I'll stick with them.
The Worst Fish and Chips I ever had needed to throw them away !!!!! The Fish was cold and Chewy My Goodness I use to go to the Fish Shop a year ago and the Food was Good but this place has turned from Great to Garbage!!!!! I wasted £30 today and feel so upset that I wasted my money I will never go there again ......

Placed an order for delivery and did not receive what we had ordered, no chips were delivered and the cheeseburger was awful and had no sauce or salad as requested. Even though we ordered over an hour before they closed it seems like they couldn't be bothered to cook chips for our order.

I ordered a late night dinner due to work, which was an hour before they closed, sure and they might have been busy, but maybe not. Regardless deliveroo can't track them but the order should of taken 20 minutes to be delivered, it didn't arrive until an hour later and I ordered a full meal deal and they didn't even give me my drink, I called the restaurant and they did not seem to care either. The food itself is good, but the customer service is actually terrible. I recommend other places than this resturant.

i visited codfather on sunday for fish and chips..straight in and ordered and paid just bit short of £12 ...told be 10 mins to cook which was fine...on looking around i wished i had not ordered and paid...the place was filthy...everywhere you looked...it has not been cleaned for ages....the surfaces were dirty....along the fryer it was disgusting in the corners and cracks...the waiting area was just as bad...the front of fryers again disgusting...i will not be visiting again...i think a call to the local health and hygiene department is in order and i will contact them directly

This fish and chip shop has certainly gone downhill since my last visit. The chips were greasy and stuck together. The batter was not crispy and the fish dry. Threw most of it away not a very enjoyable experience.
