The Sunday roast was delicious. Good portion sizes, crispy potatoes, nicely cooked veg and plenty of gravy. The nut roast was also delicious and the meat eaters enjoyed their beef and pork too. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch.

It was the best beef ciabatta I've ever had. The food was exceptional. Would recommend booking. Nearly every table was reserved for Sunday lunch.

Just had a quiet Tuesday lunch of scampi, chips and lovely fresh salad. Just the two of us in there for a while but welcome was warm, music was cool and we enjoyed our visit.

It's an excellent pub. I recommend booking a table for Friday and having the fish and chips.

Hostile reception. Felt like the ‘piano stopped playing’. All eyes were on us as we came in. Felt immediately unwelcome.Parking: Reasonably easy

We ate lunch in the beer garden as it was a lovely sunny day. A good choice of drinks, including Aspalls on draught, which is always a bonus! Our toasted ciabatta sandwiches (bacon, egg and crispy hash-brown) with a side order of chips were delicious! The other menu choices all looked good too.Dietary restrictions: My friend is gluten intolerant, but the chef came out discuss her dietry needs. Very good.Parking: Gravel parking area, so not great for motorbikes.

Fantastic country pub with a great atmosphere and selection of beers. I visit very regularly and all the staff are fantastic and kind, being served by Emma and Kat is always a pleasure. Will continue to visit regularly for as long as I’m in the area.

The Hare and Hounds is the kind of small, friendly, local pub that everyone would like to have. We've been many times for drinks, this time for Friday lunch. We both had the superb fish and chips. The batter was crispy and the fish nice and fresh. Mr J had the large portion which was quite enough.. Mrs J had the smaller 'appetite" which was still a good piece of fish. As ever, a wide range of ales and ciders for every taste.
Lovely food. Good gluten free options. Delicious cider as well. Reasonably prices. Good atmosphere.

This marvellous community run free house is the model other aspiring would - be village buy outs ought to take note of. In addition to the swift turnaround of the hand pulled beers we ale drinkers have the opportunity to sample a wide range from all over . To my surprise and delight this pub usually has a dark mild / stout / etc every few weeks unlike most of the other pubs I visit. There is seating out front and in the rear beer garden that leads onto open fields which was the site of their recent beer festival attended by a local Asian street food vendor and various musicians playing throughout the long weekend. The interior is just one large room so not the venue for a private or discreet meeting! Due to the proximity of Harlton to the city of Cambridge the Horse & Hounds clientele has a happy mix of academics, professionals and the farming community. Sundays is Quiz Night which you can now avoid or join in depending! Meals are served but I cannot comment as I have yet to eat at this pub. Friendly , attentive and helpful staff This pub is definitely worts visit
