Been 2 years since last visit, wasn’t good then , thought would try again .. no better.. grubby tables & chairs, starters was not as described , when asked where rest was, hadn’t got and forgot .. showed level off effort .. had to ask for drinks, bar staff forgot.. many better places in march

Christmas dinner with the family was fantastic. 14 people to book for the manger delt with my booking & all 14 three courses an not one mistake. We even had 3 fussy eaters. We was served by a lovely lady I believe her name was Tara. Every course was well timed and brought out piping hot, excellent food well done and a big thank you to all the staff at Cobblestone on the 25th December 2023.x

Met a friend for a birthday treat as it was about halfway between us. I have been there a few times and found it okay. The staff have always been pleasant and keep a smile on their faces. I ordered the sirloin steak and my friend had the chicken breast which would be our normal choices when we meet up. I tried eating the steak but gave up, leaving three quarters of it as it was so tough as to be inedible. Even my friends chicken was difficult to cut with an ordinary table knife and, again a third of it was left. As we did not want to ruin our chat together we did not make a fuss. When we pointed this out we were offered free desserts. (should really have got our money back but!!). The comical but bad thing was my friend was alowed to take the meat home and even her voracious dog could not chew it . I have used many Marstons restaurants over the last 10 years and they have changed, not for the better. Prices have risen steeply while quality has dropped. Even after the problem with the food this still beats the Applecart in peterborough hands down. Needles to say, we will not be visiting Marstons anytime soon.

Myself and my family came here without a booking and was quickly sorted a table, we wasn't a little group either with 8 adults and 4 children. Cannot fault the staff or the food, hats off to the chef Andrew, everything was served warm and none of us had anything to complain about and was quick to come out. Cloe and Caitlin were very attentive and friendly to us all, drinks came quickly and everything we asked for they got. Will definitely be coming back, they also offer 20% off to blue light staff which is also an added bonus on top of the delightful food and staff.

The service was good if very slow, they unfortunately sent out the wrong dish, but once we caught the attention of someone (no one came to check on us) it was rectified quickly.The desserts were lovely, good portions and a decent amount of custard.
