We haven't been to this pub since it changed hands and we won't be back.We went for a family get together and we were expecting good things but it was awful. As there was 11 of us we booked ahead and, at the owners request, we chose what we would have from the menu two days in advance to give them chance to get prepared. We arrived at 1pm, with 3 young children, and had to wait until almost 2pm for the food to be served. When the food came out it did not look good. My mum, who's in her seventies, had chosen the salmon (£16.95). It was a very small piece of dry looking salmon, a baked potato and some green beans, the potato was hard and appeared to be undercooked, one of the children's meals had been missed, my daughter was sat with a plate of beef fajitas (£19.95) with no tortillas and the 3 bean chilli was only just warm and was dry.We told the waitress that we weren't happy and as there was nothing they could do about the potato they exchanged it for chips instead. After this though the waitresses, all young girls, spent the rest of the time looking at us and smiling at each other. It was very uncomfortable. The restaurant did offer to remove the charge for the salmon but the whole experience was awful. The food was dry and only just warm, it didn't look good and had definitely been kept waiting before being served. We were also the only people in the restaurant at the time so it's not like they were busy.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Service and food were both good despite the restaurant being very busy. Wine by the carafe (£6 for half a litre) works out better than by the bottle (£15) as we discovered. Chose meals from the menu the first time and had a couple of the daily specials yesterday (10th August) ... Bonus for me was that they accepted AMEX for payment !

Updated 10/04/23. Still a 5 star experience. The Blackrock Smokehouse and Grill offers a unique experience on steaks, while offering the same top quality food and drink. Service has never been anything but wonderful and with a smile. All the staff are friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable of what they serve. Highly recommended and have personally recommended to my friends coming to March. A must try.

Great place to eat typically cooked Portuguese food with a good selection of beverages. The selection of wines could be wider as Portugal is one of the main producers in Europe and some low-cost and exquisite options came to the market recently but I'm sure they will update. Overall it is a lovely gastronomic experience in a relaxed and vibrant environment near the heart of London.

Visited for mothers day, wow it was delicious! We had the roasted baby goat, I could not finish it as is a huge dinner includes potatoes salad rice and roasted onions, the flavours from the goat was fab and it was succulent. My daughter had a sirloin steak and that was massive, it was cooked to perfection (she gave me a taste) that's what I will have next time fries rice and salad was served with the sirloin. Staff were just great attentive, not over bearing. Good value meal. no service charges! We will be regulars here

Visited here with my family for some lunch. Upon arrival all the staff were really accommodating and friendly, even after we kept changing our mind as to where we wanted to sit!The wait for food was a little bit longer than we hoped but there was a lot of us. The food was great when it came out although definitely too large a portion of chips (if that's even an issue!).The building has been refurbished really well and looks fresh and clean. There's currently two food menus to choose from so plenty of choice. Would return!

Enjoyed a 2 for 1 meal. Rib eye steak was gorgeous. Chips were the best and generous. Lovely staff. Thank you x
