Stopped in here for Sunday dinner during a long drive: was a mistake. Beef was OK but potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were inedible - they smelled and tasted like they’d been cooked in bad oil or something and made both my girlfriend and I feel queasy after eating the little we didn’t leave on our plates. We told the barmaid, who had up until then been quite friendly, but she didn’t offer an explanation or any kind of compensation and instead proceeded to ignore us until we left. Luckily, no reason for us to ever come back ?

Dreadful pub! I do not know how the old woman is still a landlady at this pub. This used to be my local until I moved away. I met up with friends a few weeks ago and the whole experience was grotesque. After few drinks out of smeared glasses, I went to the toilet… where human faeces was smeared on the walls and on the pipes. What sort of pub is this!! How are no staff checking the toilets??? The landlady was so rude. Shouted at us to be quiet a number of times. While getting drunk and abusing other locals too!! This is no family pub. I wouldn’t bring children here!! I even gave them the benefit of the doubt tonight and the landlady and her husband were fighting with another local resulting into tables being thrown, foul language and screaming!! Take your money elsewhere!!!

First time here & will definitely be going back. Lovely building full of nostalgia. Friendly and helpful staff.Decided on something to eat, and the menu read so well. Can definitely recommend the steak and kidney steam pudding and the southern fried chicken burger. Both superb and just being able to taste the homemade goodness of it all. Marvellous. Also being able to watch the chef work was a bonus, as was him personally delivering my dessert, which was a warm Victoria sponge.. Which again I'd highly recommend.

Food made me feel sick… Was lots of food, but even more grease. I am literally struggling to write this review due to the amount of grease on my phone and fingers.Customer service could be improved. Would be nice if staff smiled and interacted with customers. Server was nice, but spoke to me once and had to repeat herself three times to be heard.Cheap beers though, so can’t complain!

After a visit to Duxford imperial war museum we ate our dinner here. The sirloin steak I recommend. Order it with bluecheese sauce. Not to be sneezed at!And: the fried onion rings are really great. Never eaten so well before.

So refreshing to find a pub with proper pub grub. They serve food all day, so many places in villages don't.There's a garden and an average beer selection.
