If I could give 0 I would I walked in with freinds the table we set at was filthy and all plates and rubbish lift on the table we spoke to someone and asked if they could remove the plates and rubbish. The guy came over did 3 trips removing the plates ,cups, glasses, knives and folks . Then went make to the bar and carried on serving people . ? he didn't wipe the table leaving bits of food bits of potatoe and rubbish still on the table. This is disgusting basic food hygiene. We where all shocked we even tryrd asking him to wipe the table which was ignored . So we walked out

For once a steak cooked exactly to my liking, absolutely spot on, very rare in any place now, everything good. Thank you to Ollie for helping to make evening, you are a very pleasant young man keep it up, we were in a hurry as we had a two and a half hour journey home afterwards and we're well fed and happy for the reminder of our journey.

Lovely breakfast each morning with plenty of choice. The staff are helpful and willing to take orders off the menu if what you would like isn’t available for self serve. I was greeted every morning by Juvy who was really helpful and friendly, will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area for work

Me and my business partner, we were on rush Friday afternoon and we came in for a hopefully quick and good meal as we were pressed with time. Short and simple, we had great and fast service and I have to say value is a steal for a good food that you get. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again on the way!

We hadn't been to the highwayman for about five years. It used to be good and we often went there but then standards declined so we stopped going. We decided to have a visit again but were not that impressed. The service was okay and the staff were friendly but although the sausages tasted alright the skins were thick and chewy. I visited the toilet when we left and entered the disabled toilet but it was disgusting so I went straight out and went to the gents instead. That was almost as bad. It will probably be another five years before we go back again !

We've tried this place a few times now as the kids love the sofyplay and the prices are reasonable. However it's alwyas the same, such slow service and tables around us remaining uncleared. I think they're just always short staffed. It was a Sunday and we wanted the carvery but they'd run out completely by the time we got there at 4.30! That was so disappointing, as well as no beef pies left or any fish?! Then we had to chase our drinks order after about 20 mins, chase our food order after about 45 mins and then go and chase Ketchup twice once our meals had arrived. We didn't even bother staying for the desserts the kids get with their meals as didn't know how long that might be! The staff are really friendly and do their best but just not enough people working there maybe. The food when it came was fine for thr money, though my son's pasta looked nothing like the picture (for a 5 year old this is a big deal ?). We won't go back for food as given it enough chances, such a shame though.

Great pub food and service, thank you Olly. Will return some time. Parents liked it too . Had the 2 for £10.99 lunches, amazing value. Hard to fault.

Popped in for a bite eat after a long day out. Standard fare the same as Hungry Horse etc. Tasty, well cooked and fairly priced. Olly was polite and professional. The music nicely un-invasive.Parking: Parking spaces are plentiful and quite spacious compared with most places these days

The food quality and portion sizes have really let this place down recently. Been a regular at weekends for years but today was the final straw. Having just eaten what can only be described as a burnt kids portion, I'm left hungry and £15 lighter. My advice... go elsewhere.

A usual go to spot when ever I come up and visit my family. Great food as always and Ollie clearly knew his stuff. Making sure my mother got the right glass of red to checking up when the roast potatoes would be ready for the carvery. Always smiling and checking we are happy with everything. Thank you again for making our meal perfect.

We had a very pleasant Sunday carvery here. The service was very friendly, with a special shout out to Ollie, behind the bar.

Had a great time in the soft play area. Kieran is fantastic and helped to keep our little girl entertained. The food was good value and tasty.

I was working in the area and staying in the adjacent Premier Inn. I ate at the Highwayman 3 nights and each night it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Especially Olly behind the bar. A friendly face with good chat with excellent recommendations of what to go for on the menu.
