This location has a real Tudor feel to it, and I can imagine many flagons of fine ale were drunk here in the past. Today's hospitality is just as good - I was surprised to find a guest ale from a brewery in my home town that I didn't know existed, great food reasonably priced, and my first introduction to mead, which went down well with a cheese board.

I love it but hadn't been for years so popped in last week on a day trip from. Liverpool. It's even better than remembered!I didn't catch the name of the lady at the bar but she's fantastic! She knows the name and drink of everyone that came to the bar and is so welcoming. She was honestly like a hug in a human.Great at her knowledge of your gorgeous beers and went to every table to chat and check in.Her cat's name is Ruby so lots of love to her too.We need more people like her xx
