Amazing atmosphere and even better service, the manager Alan treated me and my family wonderfully! We’ll definitely be making weekly trips here from now on. Nice selection of beers too, something for everyone.

Just wanted to write to say a big thank you to the two gents working on Wednesday 28th Feb- our social group for disabled adults had a booking fall through at another pub so we called the Piper who got us in very last minute. The assistant manager and barman couldn't do enough for us despite being very busy and not expecting to accommodate such a large group on the night. Food was great, nice atmosphere and again, really helpful staff. Thanks so much, we will definitely head back here.

Good friendly service and nice enough pub, for me the food was the worst pub food I've ever tasted unfortunately.

Lovely meal with my niece and her partner. A long time since had visited. The pub has one through a lot of owners in recent years. Delighted to say the present landlord, who has been there 8 months, is doing a good job. Recommend for a midweek pub meal.

Our middle son and his family turned up unexpectedly this Sunday and so we decided to go out locally for Sunday lunch. Being such short notice all our usual haunts were fully booked and we didn’t want to go into Chester itself. The only place we could find locally for a traditional Sunday roast was the Piper. Our past experience of the Piper as a pub rather than a restaurant over the last 40 years we have lived in the area was not good. However we’ve noticed it’s been refurbished relatively recently so we decide to risk it. Glad we did. The roast was really excellent, well cooked, good quality tasty ingredients with an unbelievable amount of different vegetables. The prawn and wings starters were good as well. The staff were good efficient and friendly the refurb has also made for a comfortable environment. Value is good too. It’s a four not a five for two issues. One my wife who had the steak pie liked the pastry but thought it should have had more steak. Two the billing doesn’t allow you to put tips on the card, you can only give cash tips. The management needs to sort this fit the benefit of their excellent staff because most people don’t carry much cash with them these days. The Piper should have been full today like all the other local traditional restaurants around here. The fact it wasn’t was our luck. This restaurant certainly on the basis of its Sunday Lunch offering deserves support. In this day and age if you don’t use it you lose it and I think the Piper deserves a better fate.

This place is absolutely terrible, staff are unhelpful and unfriendly. you walk in and the younger girl with blondish hair just stared are at us. the place is riddled with heath code violations such as uneven tables, and ants everywhere. We waited over 50 minutes for a jug of water before the older waitress with auben hair very rudely told us to leave after telling us were not 18 despite having valid identification and only wanting to get lunch. Its also horrifically overprices for the frozen food they serve do yourselves a favour and dont come here.

I last visited The Piper Pub just before Covid. Declared "never again". I heard the management and chef had changed so thought I'd give it another chance. The outside area could do with a spruce up, hence the only 3 stars but the scampi, chips and mushy pears was delicious, the best I've had in a very long time. I give that 10/10

Went to this pub for lunch. Been before had lovely meals (Sunday lunches ) large portions cooked well really enjoyed. But Sunday the 1/10/23 we went very small portions one was very over cooked look like it had been microwaved red hot no gravy as it had dried up on plate. No veg but one did no roast but two did one was duel meat this was two small bits of chicken and a small piece of beef. No cutlery on table The floor had food on. And wet through this place as gone right down in my estimation and we will not be using it again

We booked a table in advance for 4 adults and brought 2 dogs with us, and on arrival Lisa and her team made us feel very welcome. After giving us a table, the dogs were given a bowl of water and a few little treats which was very thoughtful, and we then enjoyed a fabulous dinner. We had 2 bistro steaks (one of the best steaks we’ve ever had), the Indian curry served on a large naan bread (delicious), and the gammon (beautifully cooked and served). The puddings were sheer heaven. We were on a visit from mid-Wales and if we return to the area we will most definitely return the The Piper - a real find!
