Our middle son and his family turned up unexpectedly this Sunday and so we decided to go out locally for Sunday lunch. Being such short notice all our usual haunts were fully booked and we didn’t want to go into Chester itself. The only place we could find locally for a traditional Sunday roast was the Piper. I last visited The Piper Pub just before Covid. Declared "never again". I heard the management and chef had changed so thought I'd give it another chance. The outside area could do with a spruce up, hence the only 3 stars but the scampi, chips and mushy pears was delicious, the best I've had in a very long time. I give that 10/10

Lovely meal with my niece and her partner. A long time since had visited. The pub has one through a lot of owners in recent years. Delighted to say the present landlord, who has been there 8 months, is doing a good job. Recommend for a midweek pub meal.
