Been here a few times recently and I really like it. The service is excellent, friendly happy and nice staff. The food is pretty good, but a little pricey for some of the more simple menu items.Nice coffee, fresh cakes and a couple of beers on tap, very nice.Good, clean environment.Friendly to my children, giving pencils and forgiving/non judging when they get a little over excited.Fully recommend.Kid-friendliness: They welcomed my kids and I saw a few more upstairs.

I LOVE this place, there’s no better place for breakfast in congleton! My friends travel to come and meet me here & we love that it’s dog friendly ? that’s the best bit aside from the food of course!! The staff are so friendly and super lovely too which makes it even more worth a trip. ? Vegan friendly too.Vegetarian options: I’m vegan and this place is the best menu in congleton for me amazing food!

Lovely atmosphere and the food is unreal. Staff can’t do enough to help you. We love that they accept dogs but still have the upstairs that is dog free if you wish to not be around them. Thank you, we will be back ❤️

I've tried here a few times over the years but never been able to make it a regular as it always seems to be full of dogs. More like a kennel than a cafe. I don't want my enjoyment of the food ruined by barking dogs or to have one of them rub its snotty nose on my trousers. I've no idea why people think it's appropriate to take an animal into an establishment that serves food, and I've even less of an idea why such an establishment allows it. It's a real shame the place has to be ruined in this way.

Food was horrible tastes was bad everything was dry didn't give us enough butter so didn't eat barely any of the meals me and my family had and only gave us 10% refund when there was barely any food touched tried answering back absolute joke the high chairs are a health and safety issue there loose really loose I would not recommend putting any kid in them let alone a doll the food is 100% not worth the price and we will never be going back there again

We booked in on a Sat night for the limited time Mexican Sharing Board. We have been numerous times for Brunch / Lunch / Coffee, which has always been great, but this was our first evening visit, so we were looking forward to it as a birthday treat.Unfortunately, it was rather disappointing. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. It was also quite cold.We both had a cocktail, which were very good. The sharing platter came out quickly, and was largely good. The Chicken Empanadas however were very dry, with a pt of pastry but little filling. It was difficult to say what the filling was as there was so little of it.Overall, we didn't feel it was good value for money. There was no atmosphere, which may have been to do with it being the last Sat in January. We might try Higher Ground again another evening, but there is a lot of competition in Congleton these days.

Another fantastic experience at Higher Ground!Seven of us had a main with drink, cakes and teas / coffees. All for about £22 a head. I live in London and this knocks the spots off most London restaurants. The food is always interesting and different every time. A fusion of Eastern and Western influences, the best of both worlds. The service is exceptional - lovely people, they couldn't be more helpful even though the restaurant was really busy.Higher Ground is so good that when driving from London to Liverpool, we'll skip the service station and drive a few miles off the M6, so we can get in as often as possible! You're guaranteed a great feed and a warm smile at Higher Ground. Thanks to Sami and the team.

The food here is appalling, customer service is even worse. The manner of the manager is incompetent and extremely rude, not helpful and speaks down to his customers when complaints are raised very condescending. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! GO ELSEWHERE. Much nicer places to eat in the

Such a disappointing visit. Shockingly bad customer service and based on the reviews, we are not the only ones to have had this experience. In support of reviews further down, if you have an issue with your food then you are 100% on your own, you will be ignored and it absolutely will NOT be resolved, meaning we paid close to £30 for one meal and two drinks based on a simple error on the menu and our replacement food not arriving within 40 minutes (turns out, it was never even prepared.)We raised the issue immediately, the response was initially prompt but our replacement order was placed last on the checks (which is a strange thing to do, as surely they want tables served at a similar time, especially when the issue was not our fault.)After 40 minutes, we were forced to leave and go to the till area, as it was clear by this point no one was coming back to our table to assist us. The response was, if you want to speak to the owner, you will have to wait 30 minutes, and otherwise they refused to refund us for food we had not eaten or even seen regarding the replacement meal. The attitude of the staff was shocking, "have you ever worked in hospitality" being a partciular low point...this was such a simple issue that could have been resolved in minutes, instead it ended up 40 minutes of no food, then and extra 10 minutes of pointless back and forth at the till, all within ear shot of the owner who refused to help us and instead let their staff address the issue whilst they were trying to juggle numerous orders. It was stressful all round, completely evasive customer service (at one point they wouldn't even look at us, supposedly hoping we would dissappear?)I would avoid this cafe completely, what a complete waste of time and money it was, look forward to the arsey response from the owner, who was too busy to help us in person but apparently never too busy to respond to deservedly bad feedback based on below reviews ?
