The restaurant desperately needs updating into the 21st century, furniture and decor is tired and the atmosphere is stuffy. There was no music, restaurant was deadly quiet and nobody wanted to break the silence. Despite this, the food was delicious. The chef clearly works hard and we couldn’t fault most of the dishes we had. They could have done with a better range for a lunch menu, but dishes had balanced flavours, seasoned, with depth, and well cooked. Only thing to improve was that the treacle sponge lacked flavour. But overall food was great.
Vegetarian options: Only one vegetarian option per course.

Despite being extremely busy, service was very efficient. The young lady who served us was absolutely delightful and very patient. Great choice of food, especially the specials! Good children’s meals and attentive service throughout our visit.

The mixologists are really friendly and offered some great advice and which cocktail to order next.
There is also a good selection of beers, for people not too fussed on cocktails.

Padgbury Ln, CongletonI have never had anything negative to say about this lovley place , unfortunately on this occasion a young lady who served myself was none other than very rude , when I asked for no ice in my drink she rolled her eyes , she also had a very bad attitude , I have never known anything like it , 2 other people were complaining about her customer skills , I will be contacting the manager , people don't pay to recieve this poor service .

Having moved to the area 2 years ago, Mario's has been our go-to Chippy/Kebabery ever since. The staff are always friendly and pleasant, the shop itself is always very clean and well presented even during busy times, the quality of the food is great and the prices aren't crazy either.
Consistency is clearly something they take very seriously at Mario's as it doesn't seem to matter what time of day we have visited or how much food we've bought, it's always been to the same high standard.
I understand that everywhere gets negative reviews sometimes and honestly if I thought they deserved one, it's exactly what they would get, but I really have nothing bad or critical to say about Mario's.

The packaging stops the food sweating also, so the food isn’t soggy! This is definitely going to become our monthly take away spot!Kid-friendliness: Kids portions were really generous!

Delivery time always between 30-45 mins , I usually order between 7-7.30 so no delays, driver very friendly, would highly recommend for safe choice .

Mill St, CongletonVisited this 2024 CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub with Boothroyd Bear. He loves being in Beartown. This locals pub still proudly displays its Boddingtons heritage by the outside sign. I might have been here in the 1970's when ticking off Boddies pubs. Four real ales. Had a lovely pint of Black Hole Brewery Cosmic. A 4.2% beer.

14 Mill St, CongletonIt is the first time I found a Tibetan restaurant in the United Kingdom. The restaurant owner is a Tibetan who moved to the UK a long time ago. The decorations and atmosphere of the restaurant is very unique. The food quality is also impressive too. I highly recommend Momo and Bhod Jha. However, the portion of dishes is not very large and may be more suitable for ladies. Highly recommended!

4-6 Lawton St, CongletonDriven through Congleton many times without stopping. Boothroyd Bear decided it was time to rectify this; especially as this is also known as Beartown. First pint in this Joules pub. A brewery chain of exceptional pubs and superb beers. Lovely pint of 3.8% Pure Blonde, one of four real ales on handpump. Lovely interior but as the sun was out we sat in the rear beer garden. Great start to a day out.

Unit 2 Barn Rd, CongletonGreat delivery. 2 veggie pizzas took only 5 minutes to arrive. The garlic and herb sauce is very refreshing, it comes with every pizza so you can dip bites in. Nice pizza with a heart to it. 10/10.

Our room, room 4, was spacious and beautifully designed and maintained.
The bathroom was also big. The room had everything you needed and also included complimentary cereal and breakfast bars, and an extensive range of teas and coffees.
The hotel is well placed and you access the rooms via the rear, beautifully lit, courtyard after hours.
A great room in a great location.

Vanilla in Allseasons
Greenfield Farm Industrial Estate, 11/12 Newman Cl, CongletonVanilla in Allseasons catered our wedding, the food and service was exceptional. They have an extensive menu to choose from but will also do something bespoke if you want that. They send out a spreadsheet with the prices of the dishes you are considering which is super helpful. It mans you can change things around without emails for a new quote every time. We went for a free menu tasting and that sold it for us, the food on the wedding day was just as good as it was at the tasting. FYI we had 6 canapes (beef pie with Guinness shot, chorizo & onion tartlet, duck pancakes, ginger, chili tiger prawns, Parmesan shortbread with goats cheese & tomato, feta bits & chili honey), sharing board roast which got all the guests interacting (beef and chicken). The chicken was so moist and well seasoned. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding in kilner jars which went down a treat with our guests. We had pizzettes for evening food, be careful, this can be messy but is delicious. They cut and served our wedding cake and cheese tower. The service throughout the day was very professional and our communication with the team in the lead up to the wedding was very good, they respond quickly to emails. I really recommend Vanilla as a wedding caterer.

6 Little St, CongletonThank you to Jessica and the DV8 team for making my 21st birthday so special, we got to decorate the venue how we wanted and all we needed to pay for was the buffet per person so no room hire fee! The food was incredible and the waitresses were so attentive with taking empty glasses and asking about more drinks which I loved. We have soooo much food for left overs so very worth it! Highly recommend.

Lower Heath, CongletonAfter being unwell for a week I decided to treat myself to a chippy tea. Even though it's on my doorstep, I hadn't visited this place since it changed hands and I wish I had visited sooner! The shop itself is clean and bright and the menus are easy to read. There are benches to sit and wait during busy times, which is good for me. The food was fresh and hot and the staff were lovely. All in all a great experience and now my go-to place for future chippy treats.

1 High St, CongletonBoothroyd agrees that this a good place for an old King to drink. Surprisingly large pub with a rear patio. Boothroyd decided on a pint of draught Bass. Very good traditional ale. Sat in the strand twixt bar and garden, close to the Throne Room. Enjoyed the music.
Wheelchair accessibility: OK access. All on one level. No accessible toilet.
