Beautiful place and location but dreadful staff. The barman didn't engage whatsoever. Didn't know that you shouldn't serve real ale when it's clearly off. The manager was even worse with a snotty attitude. They need to treat their customers with a bit of respect. Not recommended at

If you are looking to go for Afternoon Tea please, please, please do not bother consider going to The Vicarage!My husband wanted to do something nice and cheer me up and thought Afternoon Tea would be a nice treat. It was absolutely dreadful!We had the worst Afternoon Tea ever at The Vicarage!8 finger sandwiches, okay, 4 inedible solid scones, 2 supposed Victoria sponges cakes, looked nothing like a Victoria sponge and the sponge was under cooked, 2 small chocolate éclairs, under cooked pastry and synthetic cream, not to forget champagne! Less said about that the better. All of which cost £55! We've had better Afternoon Tea at half the price!Please avoid The Vicarage and spend your money elsewhere!!

Absolutely shocking service and food. All started well with starters which were nice, from then on I can only describe the experience as diabolical. We waited 60 minutes for our mains, for them to come cold. We explained this to the server who I quote said 'i will reheat them' to our response please can we have new. Safe to say they did just reheat them. The plates burnt my mums hand and the food remained cold. This was then taken to the front of house, who were rude and argumentative, not what is expected. The food was then taken away and the womans attitude remained for rest of our stay. There was no apology or attempt to make things right only further unprofessionalism from the male front of house. It must have been awful for other tables to also comment on the rudeness and unprofessionalism from staff.The list of issues with food were endless- I understand mistakes happen. The service however was unacceptable and will ensure a revist is off the cards.

Called for lunch arrived 14.15pm ordered lunch we were not given our food till 15.00pm,food arrived cold even though it was pretty quite welI iwouldn't have give it to my dogs,we ordered a steak sandwich, the bun wasn't even toasted the cheese had set itself it was cold ,my wife had the chicken sandwich, the bacon was not edible chicken was cold and the bun again looked like it just come out of a packet white and not toasted,,the chips were hard and not hot,I will never eat there again we left the food on the table for the bar staff to see,I was asked if the food was OK I replied check the table and you will ,I didn't want to cause any embarrassment, -10 starsFood & drinks: Dont eat here
We had a poor, very expensive meal. The way items were described on the menu was not how they came, elements were just missing or different with no explanation. A lot of the dishes were bland. Items are not priced appropriately.

I went with friends for a meal. Food was ok (mostly), service was good food, meal wasn't cheap. Its a good pub for a hotel i guess but i would go just for the food
