Wondered if while the tasting menu night was on and had some of the best service & food I've had in years. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend.

We went for my wife’s birthday and I can honestly say we will be back. I am going to start from the beginning. Walk in and was meted straight away by the gentleman who was so friendly (this will not be the last time I talk about him) he showed us to the table and progressed to make sure we were warm. There was another lady who was also working and helped with the drinks (she was lovely tow). Drinks came quickly and orders were taken in a very reasonable time. The gentleman on front of houses came over again making sure we were OK and warm enough. Food order taken and they went over all items (be careful everyone as these are BIG portions). I had cauliflower and cheese soup with two thick slices of bread which were amazing. Soup 10 - 10. Wife order fish and chips and was amazed with the curry source it came with. Portion was of a great size (BIG). To be fair she wasn’t keen on the mushy peas our the tarta source as it had a different twist on them. I had the pie of the day and this was massive to be fair. Really nice and I would have again (without a starter this time). If totally honest I think it need something like a portion of veg and maybe an option of gravy (northern thing). Wife order desert which was a cheese cake and ice cream and again had a twist and she loved it. I had 2 scups of ice cream and again lovely. Front of house made sure we were fine and quiet drinks coming. What really surprised me was the bill it was only £77.00 this I felt for what we had was so reasonable with the food we had. Also more importantly there was no service charge and this is important I think as it give you time to think did all go above and beyond. I gave £13.00 tip which now reading this should have really been £23.00 and if honest next time we are there I will ensure to add this £10 on. Food from the kitchen was amazing and we really enjoyed it so many thanks to the kitchen staff. 10 out of 10 for front of house. Overall was a fantastic trip and we will be back 100%

Went to the Gourmet evening on Wednesday. Fabulous food all five courses, wonderful friendly service and reasonably priced, including the wine flight. Thanks - we will definitely be back!

As a loyal customer of The Church Green, having visited it many, many times since it opened, supporting it during lockdown, taking friends and family there , shopping at its Deli, attending several NYE dinners, and following Aiden to The Manchester House I don’t write this lightly. I generally prefer not to give on line feedback to local restaurants, knowing things can occasionally go wrong, but despite attempting to send several e mails, and a phone call ( I was told to re e mail the General Manager which I did) we are still waiting for a response. I must point out that we have never received any loyalty recognition, or warm greeting from the owners on any of our visits. They are rarely present, and Aiden has only been seen once in the many years that we’ve been visiting. My extended family met at The Church Green for our pre Christmas lunch get together. We were a large party of 15 covering 4 generations. I’d recommended The Church Green to them, knowing it’s menu would suit and delight everybody and that we could be accommodated on a large table in the conservatory. We travelled from various locations several miles apart, none of us being Lymm residents anymore and were looking forward to celebrating Christmas together in the hyped up Church Green. Although staff on the day were a little disorganised and unpolished, we accept this can be the case at Christmas time, and our review is based on the meals we were each served on the day ( a Sunday 12.30 sitting). From the starters, the only one enjoyed was the black pudding scotch egg, although it was served with barely anything else (no chuckney or side dressing) and so looked lacking. The chestnut soup was inedible. It was very vinegary and watery. No substance to it. Very, very odd. The mushroom parfait served with sourdough was unpleasant. The sourdough had been over toasted in a strong flavoured greasy oil, with a dripping flavour. The turkey roast dinner was served with 2 hard roast potatoes, a very small single tough sausage, a tiny disk of stuffing, very hard vegetables, tasteless gravy and a large tasteless cold Yorkshire pudding. Some family members plates were missing either mashed potatoes or parsnips which had to be requested. No seasonal sprouts, or cranberry sauce was offered. With the exception of the turkey, the meal was tasteless, hard and cold. Most family members left a significant amount of this meal. Several younger family members chose burgers. Usually these are a big hit but am sorry to say these disappointed. They were dry, ( both the bread and the actual burger ) and served with no relish except where additional toppings has been ordered ie.beef cheek. The fries served with the adult burgers varied in measure, some portions were tiny. They were all disappointed. Two of our party were young children and were served bigger portions than the adults which was bizarre. Desserts too were all very disappointing. Adults were served sticky toffee pudding with no sticky toffee sauce ( however, the young children’s puddings did arrived with sauce). After requesting and waiting 10-15 mins for sauce to arrive it came in a tiny jug for one leaving the others without. An apple crumble cheesecake arrived in disguise as a single apple tart with shortcrust pastry and a synthetic tasteless cream. This was not a cheesecake. It was unpleasant and felt like a mass produced, bought in dessert. And the fig pudding, came with no figs what’s so ever, just a tiny piece of plum. The after dinner coffee was awful. Watery, dregs. Looking back its hard to reconcile the standard of food served with the quality expected. We can only assume that the kitchen was being manned by inexperienced staff and that certain foods had been bought in, reheated or watered down. We accept that restaurants have their off days and have mainly experienced good meals at The Church Green ( we’ve let the odd past disappointments go) but this experience was poor. No one complained. We left quietly, leaving a tip for staff, but will not be returning or recommending to friends. It’s a little embarrassing

Fabulous! A friendly and welcoming atmosphere and really excellent service and the food was incredible! Every starter and main we had was delicious.. and there are so many different choices on the menu! We finished with the most gorgeous pear and Hazlenut trifle freshly made! Highly recommend a visit!

Came to The Church Green for dinner! Wow! Food and service were unreal. The duck and pigs cheek mains were so flavoursome. The dishes were superbly balanced. Sarah’s attentive service was outstanding. Staff are all so welcoming. Would highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch for 9 + a Bernese Mountain dog. The staff were really warm, friendly, professional and calm, quite an achievement. We particularly appreciated your barman and his wonderful party tricks. That was a first for us. The food was absolutely super, though the duck confit needs more vegetables. Your US Cabernet Sauvignon red wine was lovely and great value - a real find.

We held my husband’s 50th birthday celebration here early December. It was a fabulous night that we couldn’t fault. There was 22 of us and everyone’s meal was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make the evening go smoothly. I can’t recommend highly enough. Excellent night thank you to the team.

We came here for lunch after telling our family it was fantastic, sadly it was not so fantastic yesterday! We ordered a range of things, starters were mixed, the chestnut soup & arancini were delicious but the mushroom parfait was so super sweet it just tasted like treacle toffee paste, it was sickly. Then we ordered 1 vegetarian pie which was so dry, my husband had to remove all pastry & the vegetables were so dry & unappealing inside. The confit duck dish my brother in law ordered was dry and covered again the same over sweet mushroom parfait, that had to go back, replaced with fish & chips. Really disappointed because the past few times we have been were great & the Sunday roasts are normally to die for!

We went for a family meal the day before Christmas Eve. We were seated quickly by very friendly staff, and a good range of choice on the menu. The meal was lovely - especially the mushroom parfait, which was exceptionally good. There were some delays, and it was quite loud - caused by quite a noisy table of men having a good night out - but nothing much the restaurant can do about that. It’s been a few years since we have been to the Church Green, but would certainly return soon, and recommend to others.
