Lovely café which has fair pricing and good portion sizes. Not many places these days allow substitutions on English breakfasts, so it was nice to be able to do this here.

Basic greasy spoon so didn’t expect much. But ordered the food (big breakfast) with a coffee paid extra for hash browns not to fussed about. The “big breakfast” its self was underwhelming not what I expected from the title, Coffee tasted like it was made the day before so I asked for it to be taken away. Not asked if everything was ok just took away to the kitchen. Then the food came. Hash browns were like stone wildly over done. So I asked if they could be taken back. With abit of attitude they were taken away. Next lot of hash browns I took a bite and were still frozen in the middle so I got them taken back. By this point we were the talk of the kitchen because everyone leaving the kitchen would look at us smirking or a dismissive look. And by the third lot of hash browns (the same hashbrowns that I had took a bite of and sent back) they were dropped on the table no “sorry for the mistake” or “enjoy your meal” just chucked on the table and walked away. By this point we’d had enough and walked out no thankyou for coming have a nice day just snarled. As we left. I understand mistakes are made but if it takes you 3 poor attempts to make simple freezer hashbrowns then maybe they shouldn’t be on the menu

Popped in on a Monday late lunchtime for a Latte and a scone. Service was excellent, and the coffee was very hot.Lovely staff very attentive. Will return.
First time visiting Charlie’s Cafe, and it was okay. When we came in, we stood by the door for a couple of minutes because we didn’t know if it was seated service or counter service, and ended up finding a table and sitting at it. While ordering at the counter, the staff member taking our order turned away to talk to her colleague about a previous customer 2-3 times whilst I was in the middle of talking, without any precursor, which was quite rude. We did finally get to order and got our food, which was okay. I may give the cafe another go, but I’d recommend vegan sausages to the menu to allow for a filling breakfast.

Often pop in for breakfast, there is a fantastic selection of meals available here all day, you can even have a Xmas sandwich/bap/roll all year round! anyway it's a nice place with really friendly staff. Go see for yourself I don't think you will be disappointed.
