Visited with family on the 22nd August 2025
Fabulous atmosphere and very attentive service from all staff
Amazing food as usual
Will be returning again as the quality and value for money is worth the visit

Toxteth O' Grady

Nice pub, though primarily an eatery. Shocked how early last orders were on a weekday when we came to sit outside to have a few drinks & watch the sunset.

Nice food, good service

Lovely polite staff. Seated and served quickly. Worth a visit just for the chunky chips !

If you go the steak and Stilton pie is the way to what a pie , decent portions and seasonal veg , but that pie was something to behold .

We stayed here for 2 nights and everything from check in until leaving was perfect, the rooms are super cosy and the right size alot bigger than I thought it would be. Great that there was parking aswell. Breakfast was lovely, and they accommodate to someone like me whos fussy. Would definitely stay here again.

Having checked the Google reviews, we chose this place for a light lunch on our journey.
Loved the food, but couldn't finish it all. Loved the hospitality not just from the manager, but also the friendly waiting staff too.
Very happy to recommend.

Myself my husband and our dog parked over night in our camper van. The pub is lovely both inside & out. We had drinks in the afternoon then booked a table for food. The staff were lovely and all seemed really happy. The food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone.

I was sadly disappointed, we went there with a group of friends, I ordered the Curry of the day with garlic and cheese bread & a portion of chips on the side. The curry was a korma and was worse than a cheap takeaway curry, chicken was chewy and tasteless, rice was undercooked & the sauce was the blandest korma I had ever had. The garlic and cheese bread was nothing more than cheese on toast, no sign of garlic & the portion of chips was 12 large overcooked chips. We was never checked up on to see if our food was ok, for desert I ordered a sticky toffee pudding which tasted like the one you buy from a pot at Asda. Utterly disappointed considering they charge good money.

Went with a group of friends, and if it wasn’t for the great company I would have left well and truly deflated.
The food quality was so bad, the curry was weak and tasteless. The cheesy garlic bread was soggy and had no essence of garlic. The chips were soggy overcooked they tasted burned. The deserts were just as depressing.
The entire place is overpriced and poor quality. £6 for a child’s ice cream and it was the cheap ice cream you’d get from a massive tub, full of ice and very little cream/flavour.
Not one server came out to check if the food was ok, otherwise we would have told them.

This is the second time I have been here in two years, and both times I have been disappointed. I won’t be coming here again and would advise you to take your money elsewhere if you like decent food and service!

Ordered two New York deli panini. They were awful - was like a salad butty with extra salad on the side with a bit of slaw. There was minimal pastrami on this “deli” sandwich. The sandwiches were over £10 each - absolutely disgraceful worst butty I’ve had.

The average/sub par roast dinners would not have been a problem if the service was remotely up to standard. Waited a good 20 minutes for empty plates to be cleared between every course and not once were our party of 7 asked if we wanted more drinks. The “vegetables” that come with a roast dinner include a few sliced carrots, about 7 strands of boiled cabbage and about a kilo of cauliflower. Half of the plate was actually cauliflower!

I think the biggest issue though is by far the staff. I’ve never had to ask for my table to be cleared before, twice is one seating! There was one lady actually working the floor whilst about 6 young girls stood chatting by the cutlery station. Very distinct lack of supervision and direction, which is a shame as this place used to be brilliant for food!
