Came on a busy market day, staff were very accommodating and polite when getting us a table. Had a little wait but was to be expected with how busy it was.The food was amazing, very delicious and well presented! Will 100% be coming back.

Mine and my puppies favourite new place! We ate in here for our first time on Wednesday and the food that was that delicious we came back the day after. Honestly won’t go anywhere else to eat. The staff are such lovely people aswell. Very respectful. They even gave my puppy lots of treats and a bowl of water without me even asking for them The chef is such a smiley lovely man aswell! It’s just a happy place in general?

10 of us ate breakfast. It was amazing. The vegan breakfast was fantastic. Everyone was so happy we came back 2 days later. Wil always go there whenever I visit home.

Much nicer inside than you'd expect from the outside. The menu is varied and imaginative while the service was mostly efficient and friendly. The shakshuka was tasty but the egg had been cooked separately and until the yolk was completely set. Also one item of our menu was forgotten and thus arrived late, with no explanation or apology. Despite these points it's a good 4/5 and recommended.

6 of us e stopped here mid Sunday morning for coffee & cake in the middle of a very snowy half marathon. We were greeted and orders taken effectively, found enough space upstairs to sit, and were well rewarded with our coffee, tea and gooey warm brownies. Full marks to the staff.

After meaning to try Café On The Square for some time, we finally made it for lunch during a long weekend visit from my elder daughter. She had the vegan Spanish-style mixed bean stew with kimchi, Mrs. B. had the tuna mayo with kimchi and I had the cured salmon & cream cheese, both on open sourdough. I could quite easily have enjoyed any of the meals on our table. They were all fabulous, carefully prepared, fresh, tasty and very well presented. The wait staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole place has a wonderful warm welcoming vibe that’s obvious from the moment you walk in. The coffee is some of the best I’ve had in a café ever, and I really do appreciate having my black Americano filled to the brim while only Mrs. B’s white Americano had room for the milk. A welcome change from me being given three-quarters of a cup. Yes, I know it’s a small thing, but little details like that really make the difference for me. All their ingredients are locally sourced (big tick from all of us!) and their obvious freshness bursts onto the tastebuds with every mouthful. We will definitely be regulars from now on!

Completely spoilt our Sunday. 40 mins wait for food, 15 mins for tea. Walked out, as still 10 mins wait. Another couple the same. Never again.
