I very rarely write reviews but today I feel I must me and my friend went for Sunday lunch & had the Roast Dinner & I must say it was excellent & service with a smile so it's a 10 from Arthur & David

Went here a few months ago and was slightly concerned about the amount of fox hunting paintings on the walls. I asked the management if they supported the local hunt, they said "no", but the awkwardness of their answer I suspected different. I went there for an early lunch yesterday (23rd December 2023), low and behold the local fox hunt were meeting there, so they lied to me. Avoid this place if you respect wildlife.

What a wonderful visit we have had to The Yew Tree. From the moment we were greeted by Sam as we entered the pub we knew we it was going to be a great afternoon. The fire was lit, the food was amazing and the service and atmosphere were just perfect.. a great start to our Christmas break, thank you

Searched for somewhere to eat tonight around Tarporley area and was so happy to stumble upon The Yew Tree Inn. Parking was easy, the atmosphere was lively but not overcrowded and not noisy, the surroundings were charming, the service was prompt and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Came with no preconceived ideas and left thinking that's one we will definitely return to. It was excellent.

After reading the reviews was looking forward to trying this place, but it fell well short of expectations. The pub is set in a pretty village and has an ok appearance inside, but the cobwebs in the corner indicate that it isn't cleaned too well each day. The staff were OK but were far from warm and welcoming, and had that annoying habit of walking with their heads down, so was difficult to get their attention. The food was a big letdown, I ordered shepherd's pie, which was a bland tasteless mush, and the pickled red cabbage tasted like it had been picked in sugar rather than vinegar. Will not be rushing back, especially when there are so many great alternatives in thr area.Vegetarian options: very little veggie options

Food was delicious and the staff was super accommodating. My husband has severe allergies and they were lovely, heard us out (it’s always scary eating in new places) and double checked with the kitchen to make sure it was ok. We felt very welcomed and couldn’t be happier we stopped there.

Lovely garden terrace. Fantastic menu and really gorgeous food. The staff are friendly. A real gem hidden in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. My only suggestions would be 1. The outside area bar should be stocked with drinks 2 live music once a week during the summer outside as would create a buzzy atmosphere. 3. Swings for children would attract more families.

We’ve been here a few times recently and have always received great service. A lovely country pub in a fabulous country setting. The outside area is lovely when the sun shines..

Just wanted to thank the team for accommodating 14 very wet cyclists. We asked if they would put on a brunch for us after a ride we did. They don't normal do a brunch but accommodated our request no problem. The food was perfect and even though we left a lot of wet patches, it was no problem to them.Spot on..
Excellent food and service - a pleasure. I can recommend the seabass which was presented in a wonderful sauce. We will be going back.

This is the second time we’ve eaten here and the food and coffee is amazing. Each time though the service has been very slow and inattentive. Real shame as it’s a lovely venue inside and outside. The staff need done training on customer service and would be 4star.

Met two friends for lunch. We found a quiet corner. All chose fish and chips. It was haddock and very palatable. Cheshire Cat ale in form as was Timmy Taylor's. Chip butty OK.
