Went for a meal the first time,will not be a second time,had the lemon chicken,chips and Mediterranean veg,the chicken was tough no taste whatsoever of lemon,the chips were hard and the veg was cold,will not be recommending to friends,on the upside the staff were very pleasant and the place was clean.

I stayed here with my partner for New Year's Eve and the room was clean and spacious. Dog friendly too, so we were able to bring our dog which was great. Staff are lovely.

Food at the black Swan has always been rubbish, I didn't want to go for Christmas Dinner as I knew it was going to be terrible, but £160 later I was correct it was absolutely terrible, ino staff hate working Christmas day but don't take it out on the food, turkey was good but as usual vege was hard and under cooked, they boiled the roast potatoes then forgot to roast them, the food is terrible it always has been, they clearly don't have a competent chef who can run a kitchen, its rubbish always has been alway will be, iv had hospital food better. I'm not a chef but I can cook better than this rubbish ?

We took our whole team from work out for meal here at The Black Swan. The restaruant was fantastic, everyone enjoyed the wide range of choices on the menu. We all had three courses and every course was excellent.Thank you Blank Swan for helping us really enjoy an excellent evening.

Usually go 3 or 4 times a year for the Sunday roast. You get a decent portion for the price. Staff are always polite and helpful.

Absolutely terrible. Service was poor. The Manager "Martin" known by he locals as 'The Fat Controller" was unhelpful, rude and obstructive. We ordered from the set menu and were informed that we could not have desert due to a function. Hotel room was cold, almost as cold as the Manager! Several locals stated that they would not eat in the restaurant due to poor quality of food. How very sad given the location and potential for this business. Terrible service, terrible attitude, staff petrified of the Manager.

The fundamentals were all good for my stay - spacious bar, large bedroom, friendly service, clean. What kept this from being a five-star review was the average dinner, broken iron, and highly limited breakfast. Modern interior lacks some authentic character. However, this would be a fantastic family venue for a lunch or dinner. I can imagine sitting outside in the large beer garden on a summer day enjoying a meal as part of a larger group, with plenty of space for children to play.
