Very pleasant stay, two of our rooms were small and the other a decent size but we had no complaints although it would have been nice to have a few more hooks to hang up our wet coats and towels. Rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable! The landlady and staff were very welcoming - great location to walk to lovely restaurants. Thank you for your hospitality.

Fabulous one night stay at this fabulous traditional pub. Beds were very comfortable and bed linen crisp clean. Would definitely stay again. On a main road but that didn’t make a difference seemed quiet after hours. Staff very friendly. Great outdoor seating area.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and a large comfortable room with both bath and shower. Very comfortable bed, and a sound night's sleep. Sadly didn't have time to stay for breakfast, but noted that a diner had a very appealing-looking full English in front of him. A Thai restaurant on the same site, and situated in a very leafy area generally near to the main places you need to get to. The staff all appeared to be Manchester City fans, curious as Sir Alex Ferguson only lived down the road!

Stayed at this pub overnight whilst visiting family in the area. Rooms are just what you need, bed, bathroom, tea and coffee. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are very clean. Landlord couldn't do enough for you at breakfast which was well cooked and more than enough. The pub has live music and large beer garden. Staff are very welcoming. It's location is perfect for a short stroll into the centre.

Haven't been in a while. But the live music and atmosphere they have on a Saturday takes some beating. So they defo deserve this good review.

As always love the vibe, beers n snacks and warm welcome. But why is vaping allowed, it is almost childish as they sneak a vape and smell like fruit One rule for entitled one rule for mere mortals Staff are not turning blind eye but some customers are

Back to the way pubs used to be, there was a real sense of welcome on arrival, and also a lot of looks from the locals as I was a new face. I instantly got talking to the guy on the stool next to me followed by another local who also seemed keen to socialise.Quite a few in the big room watching football, a few people to the sides reading books and the papers. The fact its attached to a restaurant lends itself to staying for that extra drink, and taking a meal home to appease the wife!Really nice bar and environment, it's back to how pubs used to be, makes a really refreshing change.
