We stopped for dinner on Sunday. We were brought food but no cutlery. The waitress disappeared without giving us cutlery and we had to forrage for them and the tomato sauce we asked for. The steak and ale pie was not as good as from the supermarket. However there was worse. I went to the gents NO toilet paper. Undaunted I asked my partner to fetch some from the ladies. None there either! Still undeterred I tried the easy access toilets. Guess what? In the end I sent to the car for tissues. Was very sad as we had eaten there earlier in the year and enjoyed the meal.

The table we sat at was sticky not cleaned with tea cup stains. Also the cutlery was not cleaned with bits of food stuck on the knife and fork. Grimey feel to the place. The person who served behind the bar was pleasant and

Great tasting food but fewer vegetarian options than before. Pasta, risotto or gnocchi, they've removed the veggie pie and burger for some reason.

Jamaica Inn is a pretty average pub/restaurant.You know the ones where it's overpriced microwave meals, and pint of beer is watered down wee? They are really trying to sell you this history, for profit. It's not even in a nice location because there is a duel carriageway down the bottom. The staff are polite and the lighting is nice. Just ashame about everything else.Walkability: You can walk to the barFood & drinks: Bland and the drinks are watered-down

Food & drinks: Had Sunday lunch at the Jamaica Inn and it was absolutely fabulous, I had the smaller portion which was more than enough, very good value for money too. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This beautiful Inn is everything you need for the perfect peaceful break you need. The rooms are comfortable and clean with Sky TV. The pub and restaurant areas are also clean and comfortable with a cosy atmosphere. The food was nice but a little disappointed by the size and portion of the prawns with my surf and turf, and I did ask for a rare steak but came with a medium to well done. I didn't complain, though, as the steak was extremely tasty. The Sunday roast was absolutely beautiful, with a great portion and well worth the money. This place is also extremely dog friendly, which for myself was a delight.Staff were extremely professional and friendly. The only disappointment for me was the lack of the resident ghosts, but other than that, we definitely will return for another lovely weekend away.
