Nice room, good service, interesting museum, more than just your average hotel stopover. The only minor downside was that although my dinner was nice, it was a little minimalist (I had a curry).
Stayed here for a night and ate at the pub. We were in one of the older rooms which certainly had it's charm while still being well maintained and clean. The pub has a nice aesthetic and good selection of draught beer. The fish special we ordered was very nice but the pie somewhat bland. First visit for several years. It was chosen for convenience rather than quality. However, what a welcome surprise. Under new ownership Jamaica Inn seems greatly improved. First impressions were really clean, great customer service and obviously its legendary quirkiness. Ordered food and drink at the bar. It was delivered swiftly and looked appetising. Tasted good too. All this on a busy Friday lunchtime. Also very reasonably priced, in my opinion. Happy customer.
