Met up with family from Devon and Cornwall for a pre Christmas Sunday lunch. The roast dinners were absolutely lovely and everyone enjoyed their meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would thoroughly recommend.

Had a really great breakfast here. It's on the pricy side but I really couldn't fault it. The standard of ingredients is really top notch.

We had two disabled people in our party so needed assistance for a flat entrance, not only accommodated but on second visit I phoned ahead and they were waiting for us. Also food good (apart from small issue instantly resolved) friendly service.

Tasty food, really nice location..Service was a bit slow though - the food took a while to come. Was yummy when it turned up though!

We visited the restaurant whilst staying at the Whalesborough Cottages and we all had a fantastic dinner. The locally sourced food was amazing and there was a lot on offer on the menu. The food came out promptly, tasted amazing and the staff were wonderful. We happened to visit close to Halloween so there was a lovely hallow display by the front door, decorations inside and some spooky themed cocktails on offer as well which were very well crafted. Everything was great value for money as well so we would happily return to the Weir on our next visit to the cottages or even pop in for a coffee as it’s located next to a lovely lake and dog walking spots.

Large spacious seating, not cramped. Lots of room for a pushchair/wheelchair around the tables. Great views.Food and coffees are amazing and always arrives quickly.Self seating, and order at the register.

Love this place but don't get to visit often.Good service, great cake, and coffee. Love the lake below watching the wildlife. There are a few public footpaths through here and, of course, the canal walk.In summer, they hold bbq evenings, always smells great.Bathrooms are clean and well maintained.Kid-friendliness: Play area for under 12s very family friendly.

We come to the weir on most of our trips to Bude. Mainly for the beautiful scenery. The food is normally ok and the service normally pretty non existent. It seems something has changed. We had their Sunday lunch this week and it was incredible. A brilliant roast. Just as importantly we were served by Elliot, who couldn’t have been more attentive. Charming, funny and couldn’t do more to help us. A real art. We desperately wanted to leave a tip but had no cash on us. Sorry! But please, pass on our thanks to him, he really made our day! Five stars! We will definitely be coming back.

Went with a few friends for their last ‘chill and grill’ of the season. Food was freshly made and delicious! Atmosphere was lovely with candlelit tables and music. Service was superb- very attentive staff (nothing was too much trouble) will definitely be back!!!

Great location, we visited on what was a very quiet Saturday night, service was very friendly. The menu was great, the sirloin steak I had was excellent, the venison was lovely ..... if only there had been two left ;o)The sea bass special and the mac and cheese were also well worth trying. The food was all well presented, high quality produce and timing was ideal. We had the apple crumble, brownie and a slice of the chocolate cake for dessert and all we're very well received! So definitely worth a visit, would be nice to go back when it's a bit busier for more atmosphere but all in all a great meal. A big 'Thankyou' to our server, was lovely and very apologetic when two of our choices only had single portions left, the alternatives we chose certainly wernt a compromise, and very grateful for the complimentary dessert.

I used to love Tne Weir a great place to combine with a walk along the canal. Despite a lot of negative comments lately I decided to take a walk d and stop for some lunch It is now “queue and orde” rather than table service. My experience was similar to others - several staff standing behind the counter apparently doing very little The food was ok, of cafe standard with frozen chips. As I had nearly finished my meal I noticed some unusual colouring on my ham (bright pink like marker pen!) As there were no table staff around i went back to the entrance and quietly asked to speak to the manager. It wasn’t a great conversation, with him simply telling me it came from Phillip Warren, and that he would “mention” it to the chef, and then asked if I had finished my food No offer to feedback what the chef said, no real recognition of my concern, and absolutely no apology. There was a real lack of customer service There are lots of places to eat in Bude and unfortunately based on my experience this is not one of the good ones. I won’t be going back A
