Food was really good, fresh and prices were great. Table side Guac is a must, steak and chicken fajitas were amazing. Waiters are kind and funny.

Very dishonest staff. This place is a rip off and corrupt. Food was terrible. My wife and I went for a drink and a nacho appetizer and the waiter tried to pull a scam with my credit card! At first he said the VISA machine wasn’t working, but when I told him that’s all I had, he suddenly appeared with a working machine. He took my card, put it in the machine, and started typing as he raised the machine outside my view. I told him to place it on the table. At that point he had already entered a different amount and added his own tip. He told me to enter my PIN. After examining my bill later that night, I returned the next day to complain about being charged DOUBLE and the manager told me they would likely get rid of the waiter. I’m certain everyone in this place is ripping people off. Waiters and managers or “Captains”, are all crooks! They returned my tip, but they still overcharged me. I have also notified VISA, so hopefully they will prevent this dump from scamming others.

I love hot and spicy food but I am often disappointed by the Chilli con carne you get in places, watered down for the English palate. I asked for hot and that's what I got! Could have been hotter but it was delicious and authentic so I can't knock it. Authentic Mexican street food in rural Cornwall. I don't think you'll regret trying them

Thought I'd try this after hearing good reviews and wanting to try something new. was disappointed with the food, the jalapeño cheese things were stone cold... the spicy mac and cheese wasn't nice, the nachos weren't aweful but nothing special. And the 'slow cooked brisket' was tough and bland. It was value for money but I wish we had spent the money elsewhere

Superb food. Had meat platter and seafood large platter- beautifully cooked, plentiful food- (we shared the 2 between 4- with coleslaw and sweet pot fries). Meat was tender and had loads of flavour. Will definitely be using this place again. I was concerned that the menu was so large, the food might not be wonderful, but I was very pleasantly proven wrong- we all loved it, children and adults- some was spicier than others but there was something for us all. If you’re thinking about it, go for it, delicious food and super friendly staff.

We're excited to check this place to plan my birthday and bring friends next month because they have live mariachi playing. Rude waiters. One of the waiters aggressively asking us why we are just ordering drinks. We explained that we finished dinner before coming to this place for drinks and hoping to enjoy the live mariachi playing. Then I asked for a wifi password and was told that I would only get the wifi password if you're ordering food. We told the waiter who took our order to cancel it and walked out.

We always order for delivery, but the food here is fantastic. Generous portions and tastes amazing. My favourite takeaway in the area. Quick delivery and the churros are gorgeous

Nice shop, good location, it's easy to park next too, pleasant and helpful staff. Food was pretty good for the most part. Some dishes are definitely better than others but I guess you can argue thats a difference in taste. Overall I was pretty satisfied with what I got. Menu is nice and broad and some really nice harder to find dishes offered such as long cooked duck alongside more usual fare quesadillas, burritos, nachos, etc etc. Also served is bubble tea which is hard to find locally; it is ok if your into that sort of thing. There are a couple of other things if your so minded to entertain you including a cabinet of jewellery if your looking for more than just food.

On holiday from Birmingham - the food we ordered (battered crab pieces / Sri Lankan lamb rolls to start, chimichangas and spicy potatoes / Mexican house rice) was sensational! Some of the best Mexican food we have eaten since we were in Southern California. The ordering process was straightforward, the food was ready on time … and the taste … superb! I have seen a few negative reviews and I simply don’t understand them … all of this food got under £40 is simply unheard of back home! Highly recommended and if we are in Callington again we will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

We're regulars to Playa (2-3 times a year) and used to like La Parrillia having eaten there even before the current location. We had friends that wanted to go, and we should have known better. The food was ok, but the worst watered down margaritas and they charged $25 USD and none of the 4 of us even finished one. Won't be giving them another try.

If you're looking for a nice meal with an authentic feel, look no further! My boyfriend and I wanted a yummy dinner after a ling day of traveling. Our hotel suggested this place and even gave us free drink tickets! I ordered the garlic shrimp, which were unbelievably fresh and delicious! My boyfriend ordered the fajita trio mix. He loved it! The drinks are a bit pricey, but they're also strong so it's worth it! There are live shows every half hour and the dancers wear traditional Mexican folk clothing. A few tips: 1. Sit upstairs if possible. You'll get a break from the hustlers on the street. 2. You may encounter a little machismo energy if you're a woman. The server paid almost 0 attention to me until he realized I was the one paying. His whole demeanor changed after that. 3. If you ask for water, they'll automatically bring you bottled water. Which is fine because the tap water isn't exactly safe to drink right now.

My husband and I have visited Mexico 3 times in the last 7 years and La Parilla has been our go-to restaurant when in Playa Del Carmen. Excellent quality, local Mexican dishes at reasonable prices. The service is second to none, with waiters carrying your cocktails on their heads and preparing guac and chips in front of you. There are live Mexican performers in the evenings as well. As long as we visit play del carmen, we will keep coming back to La Parilla.
